1st impression of a 2240 Pistol

Shot My new 2240 Pistol after cleaning the Barrel with  Goo Gone and pulling patches through till clean.

Then i pulled the trigger assemble apart to polish all friction points and grease all movement areas.

Trigger smoothed out really nice.

This pistol is loud, i was surprised at how loud it was, Almost sounds like a 22LR sept quieter than a .22LR more like a between a 22 short & 22LR, i like it alot, it is easier to shoot than a Pumper pistol,  no pumping.

The stock 2240 is pretty hard to beat. A muzzle break from TKO Airguns tames the report nicely. The pistol begins to shine with a steel breech and aftermarket sights. Enjoy!

I may have to get another 2240 pistol, as the wife is getting to be pretty accurate and wont let me shoot "HER GUN", those are her words.

Funny i have more than 15 powder burners, 3ea 22LR pistols, 2ea 22LR Rifles but she likes the one that she doesn't have to go to the range or wear hearing protection to shoot.

Oh we will still go to the range, but know we can shoot at home.

I think the Range Nazi, with all his rules, kind of intimidates her, and takes the fun out of shooting for both of us. It is nice to be able to shoot at home.

I removed the Trigger spring and took it to the local ace hardware store, went through their spring selection,

I found a spring that was way less than half the spring pressure of the stock.

I put it in the gun, and WOW!!! that made a Hugh difference in accuracy, no more fighting the spring pressure to make the shot and throwing off accuracy.

That 2240 is very accurate!

I am really liking that pistol, it is just getting to be better every time i shoot.

if you havent done so already,try greasing up the pins the sear and trigger sit on.that make some more difference

I ordered a steel Breech, i should have it in a few days

I want to order a

1. a 14" Barrel for it, anyone know were i can get a 14" barrel?

2. a TKO muzzle break

I did grease up all pins, sear, & hammer, it did remove some slop out of the feel of the trigger

sorry needed to move this over to the pcp/co2 gate, and good luck a 2240 can be turned into almost anything you could want.. its the start to a nice lego kit

Get some plastic shim stock and make a punch set to cut out washers for the side of the trigger.  It will take the side to side play out.  The wavey spring washers that came in my sons 2250xt didn't work well at all.  I also made a spring guide for the trigger spring as well as the spring itself.  Used music wire of different sizes and wound and heat treated a few untill I got what I wanted. I took it one step further though.  I heated the center coil to sofen it up and degrade it a bit now it is sweet.  Those crosman barrles tend to get better after about 2000shots.  He has about 5000 shots through now.  That boy of mine has knocked starlings off the lines at 45+ yrds shooting 12fpe.  Very enjoyable gun to shoot.  120 shots from 13ci HPA reged for 1200psi.  +/- 3fps.  Unbelievable. if the velocity drops, the hammer gets a drop of light oil and it is back to 630fps.

I ordered some parts for my 2240 a couple of weeks ago,

1. 2ea of the 14" barrels from Crosman a couple of weeks ago.  (NOT received Yet)
2. I also ordered some spare seals  (Not Received)
3. TKO muzzle Break (received)
4. Steel Breech (Received)
5. Trigger tune (Done)

After i received all items i will put them all together on my 2240 and finish it.

Still waiting on Crosman

If anything look at the crooked barn tom cat. I based my 2240 on that and with a little valve work and better springs all around got mine to shoot 550 fps. It will give me exactly 25 shots out of one cartridge and then it dumps the rest by itself. With a little pistol scope it is a great pest gun, taking squirrels out to 20 yards no problem, and pest birds to 30. The most fun is drilling cans out to 45/50 yards though...
