Field Target Match Asheville, NC
« on: November 02, 2012, 08:13:49 AM »
I live in Asheville, i am checking to see if there would be any interest in a Field Target Match around the AVL area? I have never competed in this type of match and would need help organizing but i think it would be a fun event to do. Please respond or message me to let me know if you are interested. We can meet for coffee and get the ball rolling on this.
Thanks!

I think you could get plenty of interest.  I have never competed but have talked to those that have.  I know prizes are a great thing for the competition for the winners.

I would get in contact with a airgun club in the US that has put on plenty of these to get the foundation for such an event.

I would be willing to meet up and discuss.  We have plenty of folks now in the NCAirgunners web forum now that live in the western NC area to draw upon too.

Just let me know what your thinking and I would be willing to assist < key word here since I stay so busy at work and being perpetually on-call 365/24/7 with my job for the state.

Hi,

Anything ever come of the idea of a FT match in the Asheville area?

I would be glad to help organize a Target Match. I work for Pepsi and can get drinks donated for the event. Let me know how I can help.

I might try to make it down if my schedule allows; I'm about 90 minutes away from Asheville and I would love to attend, if not shoot (I only have .22 caliber guns, though) a FT match; I would almost certainly embarass myself, though.  That's ok, I have no shame. :)  I think it would be great to see what goes on and meet some folks and see some nice guns :).

Check out THAGC Spencer:  http://www.thagc.com/

June 15, Mt. Pleasant, NC.  Not as close as Asheville, but closer than Selma...you know your TX wants to play!  Trust me.  You need a 22 to handicap your shooting on the kill zones and give the rest of us a chance  ;D

Hmmm... I'll have to see what my calendar holds for me.  Ha, believe me I'm not much of a shot beyond 10 m, and even then, the blind squirrel finds the nut every now and then.  :)   And the ranging... that's a *whole* new ball game!
