the box says "THE FAMOUS NAME IN AIRGUNS"
if this rebel is a sign of things to come from webely, what the are going to be famous for regarding their airguns WILL change.
it came yesterday, overall appearance not too bad. fit, finish, it holds well-nice cheek pad, i like polymer stocks i have never liked shooting with furniture, wood looks pritty but it is unstable structurally and varnish scratches easy, the front sight gives it the 1942 japan war gun look.
the sites are JUNK TOTAL JUNK!
this one shoots worse than DICK TRACY'S does. at 60ft out of 10 shots, 4 wild flyers mostly high and right some left, and 5 in a .5inch group with the 10th one near the 5. it's the same with 2 differant scopes. i would say the plastic breach/reciever is to blame. the chrony says it is 817 to 823 fps. 7.9 grains. 8 pumps.
the stock screw was loose the stock rocked on a pivit point at the stock scew. this puzzeled me so i took the stock off the action, i found a star washer between the stock and the action
. that aint no place for any washer. so i removed it put the stock back on and the rocking was gone.
the trigger has a 1st stage screw. but do not turn it !!. the plastic trigger group and reciever are thermaly unstable. at 4 turns in the trigger is short and crisp AT 70 DEGREES F. but at 85 deg it will not cock untill turned out 2 turns. at 95 deg i had to turn it out 1 1/2 more turns to get it to cock. too bad! it could be a reasonable trigger for a garden gun. so in cool temps it has a half mile of creep luckily the second stage is stiff so you can feel it but that leaves you commited to pulling the trigger as you are now bulked as MR TUNA would put it.
i have not torn this gun down to bare parts yet i can only see one trigger part that ain't plastic exept the pins.
this is the only product i can think of that i have purchased in the last 25yrs that does not have a made in label.
a.o.a sent a tin of webley accupell 7.9 gr domed with the gun i requested them to sell me the pellet they found to shot the best in their exp with the rebel. i can not tell them apart from the crosmans even with a loop. they look like the brown box 7.9's. and they shoot the same.
i did not buy this gun to shoot as is. it is the only new pumper that comes apart (not sodered) i figured it has lots of possibilities for moding BOY WAS I CORRECT on that one. the barrel is break line with rifling. looks like i'll keep the trigger guard, pump system the cupped piston has to go, the plastic stock, the dump valve is gone, looks like the pump tube is about the same dia as the disco pumper bob did. lots of work but that's what it's all about.
during the next 7 months (thats when i can get back to my shop) i am going to detail every part on my cad system then design the new parts. trigger group, hammer, valve with gauge, breach with scope rail, bolt, pump pivot, piston, power ajuster.

in 1939 hitler said give up your guns and germany will be a safer place... then a short time after all guns were taken ,he told the jews "board the train" a word in histroy

i think the average shooter who had no intensions of moding should get a 39x if they are looking for a new pumper or you could find a old 1400 crosman.
i feel the trigger is not safe. today it was 93deg i left the gun out in the sun for 2 hrs. with the trigger screw 1/2 turn in from the factory setting. i touched the trigger and it went off when i was not ready. needles to say its back to the factory setting.
