Benjamin Trail, Dragon Claw bipod

I just bought the Benjamin Trail NP XL, .25 cal, and at the same time purchased a Dragon Claw bipod because I'd read it was great.  Unfortunately, most of the barrel is too wide for it to clamp on.  The only narrow place is near the stock, and placing the bipod there cramps the cocking motion.  Have you heard anyone's ideas on handling this problem? If it's impossible, please suggest another bipod. Thanks!

Generally, springers do not get along well with attached bipods.  Not much help I know.

This goes around the barrel, then any Weaver style bipod can be attached
