I have to admit the Vortek kit is appealing. But if I need a little more oomph ,I'll just have to grab the 50 for now.

If just shootin paper ...stretch her out to 20-30 yards if you can. I prefer twenty ...but up a dot or so and it'll shoot a pretty hole at thirty.

IMHO, the R7 vortek kit is a nice package.  The extra power is quite noticeable, and it comes at only a minor cost in terms of extra recoil.  The noise level is about the same....still quiet in absolute terms.

I find that it is a bit harder to squeeze the same pinpoint accuracy from my R7 with the vortek kit.  At stock power levels, I can be lazy and still put pellets into a clover leaf pattern at 20-30 yards.  With the vortek kit, I need to concentrate a bit more to get the same outcome.

The HW 30 S must be a real sweetie.

I've never heard anything but praise.
