....... HANDS DOWN - .20 cal/5mm !! if you can afford the extra $$, it's the sweetest caliber (and my personal favorite). someone mentioned a diana model 52 a bit up the thread.....same gun as the diana 48 w/ different stock..... the BEST .20 caliber platform in my personal experience for .20 cal springers...... i had a factory-made .20 diana 48 and i had rim re-barrel an older .177 diana 48/52 made back in 1990 w/ a .20 walther barrel......good Lord, they were awesome !!!! the true american sporting airgun, the sheridans, are still impressive to this day.....especially the rocker-safety models and the co2 rifles.... many .20 cals are rare today, but i got a good deal on a brand new .20 webley valuemax from webley usa... think it was around $185 shipped - less than the benjamin/sheridan .20 cal pumpers and quiter and much more power. ....if you can spend an extra few bucks for pellets, .20 is the way to go.... ....trouble is that many air rifles donot seem to perform much better in .20 than in .22..... DO A LOT OF RESEARCH - i did. - paul d self in denver.

One of my favorites is the RX-1 in .20, love shooting that exotic gun in an exotic caliber

i know your asking about either caliber and i'm glad you did. because i would really like to have a quality springer, be it break barrel, underlever or sidelever and either or from england or germany. but i know i want a .20 cal and all this info is very helpful in helping to decide.

Thanks for all your in put. I found a local gun shop that carries .20 pellets. Its kinda funny cause they only sell a small selection of crossman air rifles. None of them .20. Maybe one of you guys should do ballistic chart comparing it with the other calibers. You know, showing more people how great a caliber it is.

I have done a lot of velocity testing in the past with my RX-1 in .20 caliber. Straightshooters has some great charts on their website with Chrony numbers for every rifle they sell. I like comparing my guns to those numbers, those guys really run the guns through the paces at different distances and I appreciate their hard work for it. I used to put my Chrony out at long distances back in the day but I stopped doing it because I was worried about shooting it
I discovered that a couple of my guns are running on the hot side.
You should take a gander on their website, the velocity charts are amazing.
