Hey folks, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cody, and I live in Kenosha, WI. Born and raised. I'm 29 years old and I received my first air rifle (a Crosman 2100 Classic) at the age of 10 as a gift from my father. Initially his intention was to teach me how to safely and responsibly handle a firearm. His plan worked well, and within two years I had my very own Browning 30-06. Later in my teen years, I received a Benjamin 397p as a christmas gift. It wasn't until a few weeks ago though that I began developing a passion for airgunning. My folks were cleaning out their basement and came across my old air rifles, and my dad called me to come pick them up.
After bringing home my old air rifles I cleaned them up, inspected them, and cleaned their barrels. Excitedly, I built a pellet trap and began shooting. However, I soon noticed that the 2100 wasn't holding any air; I'd pump, and the air would just whoosh right out. I hopped on the internet and soon discovered this forum. I registered, searched through some older posts, and came across some helpful links that guided me through diagnosing and repairing the problem (worn out o-ring in the valve). Also found several suggestions to wrap both ends of the barrel in ptfe tape, suggestions that I'm glad I heeded. I don't have a chronometer, so I don't have any fps statistics, but I can confidently say that the rifle is far more accurate than it was, and it seems to hit pretty darn hard. Oh, and during the repair, I impulsively decided to paint the entire rifle matte black. The shiny plastic stock and forearm weren't doing it for me. I'd be happy to post pics, but I'm not very forum-savvy, so if somebody could explain to me like I'm five how to do so, I would be very thankful.

Welcome to the forum from the NC Mtns.
The hardest part I've found posting pics, was getting the pic re sized to post. If you have Windows 7, you can re size it on your PC and upload it using the attachment link. You can also go online and re size it. Do you have Windows 7? Give me a day or 2 and I'll try to make a detailed instruction guide.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Lee, unfortunately I'm running vista on my home computer. Jonnnyboy's tutorial should do the trick though. Thank you both for your help. I'll probably be posting pics tomorrow, since my schedule today is pretty busy. Which gate would be the appropriate place to post my pics? Or is it acceptable to post them here in this thread?
