pellet recommendations for the beeman rx-1

I know there are not a lot of the rx in .25 cal out there but for those of you who do have (or did have), I'm looking for some direction. I recently acquired an older rx-1 in .25 cal. I have to say that I'm pretty excited about it but Id to know if anyone has good (or bad) pellet experiences with this rifle. I have heard that they tend to be pellet fussy and each rifle has individual likes and/dislikes but just some general suggestions would help. In particular, any experience with predator polymags or jsb exacts? Any other helpfulover tips, hints, or suggestionsthe about thisthe particular rifle??Thanks

Hi Jon,
I've had my RX-1 for a little over 15 years now. Mine is in .20 caliber but I can still offer some assistance. I would try the H&N Field Target Trophy, H&N Barracudas and the JSB Exact Match (Diabolos). Those RX's can be pellet fussy from what I've read but I found that mine loved the Crosman Premiers (cardboard box) right from the start. Unfortunately, the Premiers are not available in .25 caliber, otherwise I would've thrown that on the list. Hopefully yours will gobble up and love the FTT's and the JSB's and especially the latter since it's a fantastic pellet. I'm speaking from experience from my .25 rifle which has a gas ram too but a different type (also from Theoben like yours). I would stay away from the H&N Match (Wadcutters) unless you're shooting at close distances, those pellets tend to not do well with high velocities. The RX series can be a wonderful rifle and it's not the brute that most make it out to be, in my opinion after shooting many thousands of rounds over the years, it's one of the most accurate rifles and it's a smooth operator. The heavy weight helps absorb the quick-snap recoil, it's very manageable and if you do your part the rifle will reward you with single-hole groups. Yours being a .25 cal, you should expect much lower velocities than it's other caliber counterparts so I would say it's really good out to 40 yds or so. Inside that 40yd line, it's an absolute beast on targets.
I would like to also recommend Sportsmatch/Dampa mounts for that rifle, it's a must if you plan on not breaking scopes. And as far as scopes go, make sure you get the highest magnum rated scope you can find. If you skimp on the mounts and scope, you might as well get the broom and dustpan out to sweep up the busted crosshairs off the ground. Seriously, I heard this thing eats scopes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Edit:
I just noticed you have a Patriot.
You really don't like soft-shooting guns do you?
I guess that wimpy '97 will have to do.
