Bow has been open in MN for a month. Waiting for it to get cold enough so that I can let them hang for a week or so. Getting ready to pack the freezer with some fat corn-fed MN Doe's. Have my 2 Black Widow Recurves ready to roll !!

Holy Moly those Black widows are beautiful! Now there is something i could carry in the woods and appreciate it's for it's elegance. My compounds are ugly in comparison, but are a bit faster probably. It doesn't matter though, because, check this out.
I started bow hunting deer when i was 16 and have hunted them every year since... 23 years straight. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours stalking or stand hunting. I have drawn on dozen or so deer and seen many more.. but have only released once, 23 years ago. I wounded(fat wound, no blood trail) a young buck and never found him or a blood trail. Just my broadhead with a bit of hair and fat on it. I have not released on a deer since. And somehow don't think i ever will again. I sure enjoy sitting in the woods with a bow though and will start this year just as soon as it gets a little colder. Weird huh? It's my pre gun season scouting time i guess,.. anyways.. a prettier bow sure would add to the experience.. i don't even need the arrows.. bet it would be light.. hmmm

My Autumn Oak-68# @29in draw throws a 650gr Douglass fir shaft tipped with a 165gr grizzly 2 blade at 238 fps. Lots of energy. Smashes bone going in and out to the 30 yd mark. Have shot clean through Elk at 30 yds. On whitetails it has gone through the spine and stuck in the dirt.
P.S A lot of people are into the speed game with ultra light arrows but I don't buy it.
