hi i have a sheridan i think blue streak need to figure out the age. i knowits old, it has the squeeze safety and no serial number. can anyone help

Are you sure there are no numbers/letters anywhere on the rifle? Did you check the side of the breech.

Hold down safety indicates an earlier model. Later models have a rocker safety.

the only marking on the rifle is located on the side just under the bolt handle it reads sheridan products inc

i have taken it apart nothing else. the rear sight is pinched on, no screws to hold it, the safety is located at the breach, has to be held down to fire, just above the safety it says hold down to fire. does that help? that site you gave is only for guns with serial numbers. i was told that sheridan didnt number until in the 60s any further heip is greatly appreciated.

I had a 1966 that had the following stamped on the left side of the breech: 6691E. From my research I determined the barrel/breech was produced in May (E), 1966 (6691). Just read those stamped numbers backwards with the letter designating a month.

thank you sir is there any way i can narrow the age gap. i am a 45ap fan never much into pellet guns, i had a stroke last yr so i am building myself back up to them via air guns. found this one at yard sale for 1.00 couldnt pass it up. is there any value to these guns?

There are lots of people who can reseal the gun, determine if it is working properly, refinish the stock, and clean up the metal parts. I did my own repair and stock refinishing.

thanks guys, so if i get it resealed, it wont hurt to refinish it? any idea of what is worth? is it worth having it resealed?

yea it's worth resealing. they regularly sell between $100 to $175 depending on condition. some more some less.

if you get it all tightened up and shooting good, i'd just hold on to it. you'll be in it for a song and a dance.

hey-Hey!!!,
I have put down nearly every sort of rifle to shoot a Sheridan. Now I haven't sold any yet, but I just took one to a Field Target match( my first ) and shot 19 of 60 in a course seemingly designed to challenge the failings of the old optics. I also have still got my first one( though the latest acquisition shoots better ). Not getting rid of either of them.

VPilot can do a whole lot better than me on this. The front sight profile narrows it down a bit. Try perhaps a search of his posts on Sheridans; he gave a good solid timeline for all the modifications. Straight bolt handle, and that sight( can't remember what it is called ) ought to get you within a few years at most.

thank you sir i found vpilots thread to help date it. that should be a sticky so everyone can find it. it appears my rifle is a 52-56 model i guess that maybe as close as i can get. now to clean it up and get it resealed. i wonder if redoing the stock would hurt value lol gotta protect my dollar investment lol

I'm a shooter, not a collector so..Anything bought by me gets the overhaul from new seals and a stock refinish. Give that tired old girl a face lift and I bet you won't get rid of it..Peashooterjoe

Depends on value to who? So far I need them to shoot first and look second. Have not seen any that did both...

ok then talked to bryan? airgunbna i will send it to them he said he could jack it up and drive a new one under it. in the mean time i will make the stock look better. u guys have been great, thanx a lot. may a yardsale streak fall into your hands. LMBO
