I went home over lunch to receive (sign for) my new mill (
http://machinetoolonline.com/PM45MMill.html
) BUT then I had to go back to work. It is just sitting there in my driveway. 1000lbs of metal machine calling my name while I sit at work and work, making money to pay for my new toy. I really want to go home and play with it.

I do not yet have ALL the tooling I will need, but I have some. 7 endmills between 1/8 and 1/2 inch. a tpg insert 1 3/4 inch facemill, two vises and a bunch of clamp down pieces, and a drill chuck. This is just a growing hobby for me. As such, I don't know what all I need yet. The plan (as has always been the plan) is to acquire as needed to complete what ever project I am working on.
It is unpacked and sitting in my garage, about to be lifted onto the base. I will post pictures later tonight.

Got it unpacked and mounted on the base. It is heavy for sure.
Started unpacking about 5:15 and by 8:20 it was mounted on base and ready to clean, at which point I went inside.....to upload pics and write this.
Minor packing damage to the finish on the base from the handle coming loose in box.
Note using the packing bolts to lift also lifted the bottom of the box I had to remove those bolts and use different ones to lift
lifting on 3/8 carriage bolts in the mounting holes.
Some of the stuff you will never see was not square. It will not affect the function since the holes are still on a square pattern that is correct.
This is as high as the lift would go in the original chain configuration. DOH
New chain configuration and extend the boom.
This picture revealed a problem in my method.....the carriage bolts are stuck inside the base casing.....
Hopefully I will be able to use this hole to get them out with a magnet on a stick.
Stuff that came with it. R8 collet set, drill chuck, oil can, 58 pc holddown clamp set, 4 inch vise, and power X feed. It has power down feed and I don't see the need for power Y feed.
Me standing beside it for a size comparison. (I am 5'9" and 155 lbs)
and a random garage picture.....

Looks good Martin. You will probably be looking at the 3 axis DRO before long for the true precision cutting. Saves a lot of time and machining mistakes.

Here are a few more pics that are a little more complete. The crappy plastic stops for the limit switch got replaced with metal ones whipped out on the lathe. I also cut the handles for the quill extend shorter because they kept hitting the table they were so long.
I just got all the material to make a ball turner for my lathe......so......all those plastic handles might get swapped out for nice metal balls soon....

By the way I LOVE the power feed on the X axis and Z axis. They are GREAT.
