TF 89 takes a big nutter

Try as I might last night, again I could not stay up to hunt raccoons. Bad for me as they came and went all evening in the low lands. The cats were driving me crazy on the ding donger, so I turned it off. I did set the alarm for 2 AM, but I was so spent I just turned it off. Too much going on this last weekend with the Men's Retreat at Church and some Watts Bar Striped Bass fishing.
My brother Garry with my first Striped Bass of the day! Our other brother Larry was out of the picture. He is a two time Tennessee state Striper Champion. In fact we call him "The Champion".
Here I am in my Elmer Fudd hunting hat with my second Striper of the day!
(These photos are vidcaps so they are pretty low quality)
Nice looking raccoon from last night! I went out to try and get a shot at him, but Chip the Wonder Dog barked and off he went.
If I thought I could get this thing without it spraying, I'd skin it! It is a white skunk with only a little stripe of black.
Well back the the story at hand. My wife was in the bathroom and she said, "something is squeaking like crazy outside". My first thought was a rare Chipper. However between the cats and my air gun onslaught we pretty much made them extinct. Since it was cold, I pulled on a flannel shirt and some shoes and went out on the deck. Just to my left I sensed movement. It was a big nutter jumping off the end of the house and headed up an Oak Tree.
The TF 89 was on the deck for night hunting, so I grabbed it and loaded a CPHP. I couldn't get a clear shot at him, but I shot the trunk of the tree just over his head to get him to move. He jumped over to a pine tree and I repeated the same technique. Since I hunt back there all the time, I just knew his escape route and put the crosshairs on it. Sure enough he jumped to a BIG Oak Tree and froze when he saw me through the hole I was aiming through. I took the shot offhand at about 25 yards, it was probably closer to 35 as the tree is gigantic and he was WAY up.
My TF 89 is my only successful home tune, and it is accurate, smooth, and powerful. When I shoot it stuff goes down. The CPHP hit the squirrel hard with a LOUD THWACK! I'm not sure how tall that tree is, but I'm guessing that squirrel fell at least 60 feet. From the hit I pretty much knew there wasn't much chance he was still kicking.
I grabbed the camera and the rifle and headed out to find him. To get to where he is at, I had to go out my never used side gate and walk down a really steep hill. Because of the perspective it was hard to spot where he fell. It took me about three minutes but I found him further down the hill. I was right it was a solid hit right through the side of his head.
Here is where I found him. See how steep the hill is at that point?
A shot all you squirrel hunters would be proud of!
And out the other side.
The TF 89 taking a bow with its quarry.
I grabbed the bottle of nail polish for this shot. I get it from the same place LongIslandHunter, Shadow, and Only1Harry gets theirs.
My TF 89 with its new flashlight mount! It works great too! I put a Coleman LCD flashlight on it.
Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures and the adventures

Now that's how you whack a nutter !
Excellent offhand shot, not an easy task when the excitement is high and the blood is pumping, good job
I like that light mount on the 89, very nice.

Nice shot! I can picture what the squirrel must've seen through the hole in the trees rigth before you took the shot. Musta been like one of those sniper movies where one sniper can see the other sniper's rifle pointed right at 'em.

Thanks guys! I did some target practice last night with the flashlight mount it works great! I could see the scope reticule so much better. I'm not sure how late I can stay up tonight to hunt as I have to be on the road early in the morning to Nashville.
I'm supposed to stop by a lady's farm on the way back to help her with a coyote problem. They ate one of her miniature horses! It just seems like every time I try and help them, the coyotes are nowhere to be found. With my lack of success it surely isn't my reputation they fear.
I've got my new Johnny Stewart Electronic call, my Beretta 12 gauge and some Hevishot Dead Coyote all ready to go!
