A short demo of the rifle is available on the Winchester site. Looks like fun!

Quick review of the Winchester M-14
June 6 2012 at 12:50 PM Greg (Login gwat)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brown dropped it off this morning at work so just a few quick impressions. All "composite" from buttplate to flash suppressor on the exterior and the stock looks it. The barrel and action is a bit to shiney also. Can't compare to a real M-14 in size or "feel" as I have never even held one. Detail, fit and finish "realism" are equal to or a bit better than the M4-177 that I returned to PA (just not real thrilled with pumpers) Trigger has about 3/8" travel to resistance than breaks after about a 1/4" of 5lb?
? pull. Shot two mags thru the rotary stick mag, similar to a gamo P-25, (32 rounds).at 40 feet or so off hand leaning against a building. After I got the feel for the trigger I could cover the last group with a nickle. This is definitely a fun gun and those "serious shooters" will not consider it. The perfect gun to tackle those plastic enemy soldiers from afar and than rush in with your Tangfoglio 1911 to wipe out the rest of the insurgents face to face. Told you "serious shooters" wouldn't like it. The semi-auto factor puts it above the M4 177 in my book. Still debating if its worth the $150.00. I could see that with all of the accessorized M4's out there that this will be a good candidate. A coat of bed liner on the stock, open up the vents in the flash suppressor and come up with a scope mount and you would have a good looking sniper rifle with reasonable accuracy and semi-auto capability. Check dimensions against a real M-14 to see if a old used stock from the PB might be able to be fitted to the AG action or grab a chunk of walnut or birch and carve away everything that does not look like a stock. A wood stock would put it in the "must" have column. I will try and get some chrono numbers this weekend along with better groupings at longer distances. Robny this is right up your alley

oh my, the one that came to my house was terrible, Clip/magazine would not click in, shot all over the place. I posteed a thread in the general airgun gate. I on the other hand found the m417 to be an excellent shooter. the size is about right for an actual M14 but not heft. of course I wasnt expecting it to be as solid. I see where it could be fun with semi auto but it at least has to hit what your aiming at. $50 or $60 maybe, $150 No.
my son's airsoft gun is about as accurate.
