This is a poll to see what you guys and gals vote on! My cart is full and ready to check out either way. I am truly on the fence on this one for reasons I will not go into but your vote makes up my mind! I have psent the better part of a month researching and comparing and reviewing customer feedback to have the two models before you. I don't need others added to the mix.................these two are it for the vote. Trust me, the research has pointed to these two models for reasons that would be too long to explain.

Vote and make my decision for I am good with either I assure you!

I voted PCP. While I am not to fond of Hatsan and the problems they have been having I wouldn't mind to own one of their PCP's. I recently purchased my first PCP a Disco and it is awesome. I still like my Crosman Titan and my other rilfes but the WFH I have in .25 is a bear to shoot compared to the Disco. I know, different animals than you are talking but .25 springer vs. PCP the PCP has to win out on ease of shooting which leads to a bigger grin factor per dollar.

I haven't personally shot either gun, but my thought process is that when you're talking about the power levels of those two guns, you are going to have a much better shooting experience with PCP. I have a really hard time believing that a spring gun could shoot .25 at 1000+ fps and still stay a smooth shooter.

It won't (the springer that is). The equation here with the two will have similar fpe in the end. The Patriot can sling a 24.4 grain .25 pellet to the tune of 29 fpe from an actual shooter that tested this gun with varying pellets. Plenty of knock down in my book. Plus I like a .25 caliber. The Hatsan has a rating up to 970 fps. That is with a light pellet I know. If I can take a 21 grain .22 pellet and get at least 800 fps which I think is very capable then I get the same fpe from a .22 which is the caliber I shoot already with my HW97k Weihrauch. Not the same weights of course but none the less same caliber that in a pinch could be used by the springer to a degree.

So it is not about fps but rather the energy I am looking to mainly.

Voted springer mainly because for practical purposes here (what little we know of yours), they'll both do about the same job. The springer will be cheaper and simpler in the long run, have more than enough oomph for small game as well as good accuracy, and require little set up and accessorizing. Extended shooting sessions with the WEB/PAT involve having enough pellets. An extended PCP sessions going to require a wheeled cart to bring along gear

Maybe not that bad, but you get the idea.

I looked at PCP long and hard once magnumitis bit me, and quickly decided I didn't have it THAT ($$$$$) bad.

Most times when you look at a claimed fps on the higher end pcp's that velocity was done with an average weight pellet for that caliber.

So the hatsan pcp is claiming 970fps, you can bet that that 21gr pellet is going to in the ball park of that claimed speed

Btw a 25cal pcp is going to make a lot more power then 29fpe... 20-35 fpe is normal for a .22cal pcp.. .25cal pcp's generally are in the 40-60 fpe.

That was actually my point. In the end you have similar power levels, but the PCP will be a much easier shooter. 29 fpe from the the springer, and Hatsan is claiming 34 fpe for the AT44, which is a reasonable claim. I'm much less worried about 5 fpe difference than I am about how enjoyable each gun is to shoot. Plus, the Hatsan is a repeater with pump action... how cool is that?

I voted for the PCP for the simple reason that I don't really think springers are capable of utilizing the .25 cal the way a PCP can. Anyway, I'd get the PCP.

I chose the AT-44 .22 because it is exceptionally accurate. It delivers more power than your Patriot. I tend to keep my springer collection limited to the 1000 fps springers such as the Mod 95, Crosman Trail NP, HW-97 because they are easy to cock and shoot. Magnums just do not turn my screws.

I have a Hammerli Pneuma Elite-10 in .22 which, as you may know, is simply a re-titled AT44-10. FWIW, I like it a lot. It's neither the most powerful nor the most accurate rifle I have, but it is the most reliable. For the price, I think it's a good buy.

I did not vote in your poll because I know nothing about the W&S. That said, I must point out that comparing a PCP to a springer is a bit of apples and oranges.
