is that the stock, stock ? lol the one that came standard issue on the rifle, with a new custom finish? or is that a super streak stock? i have never come face to face with a wooden NP stock, and mine is synthetic. or do they use the same stock for both the XL AND the SS?

They seemed to use the same stock on both Joshua at least with the one's I had/have. Nice work Manny think you got me convinced to strip mine down now.

SS and NP XL have the same stock, I just got rid of the raised cheek ( spelling ? )pieces rounded some corners took the plastic finish off and stained it.

easy to keep the checkering, just sand the finish off and the art work will still be there.

Didn't realize there really was wood grain under the factory finish, although I love my XL1100, the stock may as well be made of painted particle board with pseudo-grain staining which comes up short of really looking like wood grain with no depth to the finish. Yours looks great!

The Monte Carlo style raised cheek piece is a beautifull thing if done nicely if not ( like the Maurader) it's just horrifing, I think most of the time is just excessive wood hanging there.

I was just shooting my SS and right after it the Trial, the slimmer stock feels much better, at leats to me it does.

I'm gonna redo the stock on the SS too this week

Yeah Paulie, they are doing a disservice to the guns by painting the wood, ...but I guess it's cheaper than a nice stain job

Nice work!  The only thing about my Trail that I don't really like is the shoddy finishing on the wood, and I've thought about tearing mine down to refinish, but was afraid of messing up the checkering and "Benjamin" logo.  You may have inspired me!

Yeah  , just started working on my Super Streak today and the wood looks better than the Trial, this should finish real nicely
