Looks like Hatsan in Turkey is stepping up to the plate and handling these few problem guns that came through there plant.

Things are starting to look more encouraging . . . Time will tell !

I don't know if id go so far as to say that. This is the first gun I have heard of that they are attempting to rectify.  Seems from reading the boards that there was more then a few bad ones. Then again I don't have no boat in this race, other then I hope to pick up a Hatsan, and wont now.

Heak Crosman has hundreds of problems with there air rifles but we arnt saying we are done with them right. This is there first try in the USA lets give them at least 6 months to get everything worked out. Ive seen where they are sending guys upgraded models to replace their defective rifles. I read on the net hmmm maybe it was a member here that was sent a floor model tx200 and the company made good with him so these things happen. I say give Hatsan a chance, they make some killer air guns, I would hate to see them say ok thats it no more USA. This is my thought. Brent

So you are saying that only a fraction of 1% have problems? How did you arrive at this conclusion?

The fact is, there is no way at this point to quantify the scale of Hatsans QC issues. We are a microcosm of the airgun market here at GTA, but what we do know, is that the mojority of people here that bought one and tore it open, have found many of the same issues. Some of these issues are rectified by a simple tune up, others are not so easy to deal with, eg. oversized bores and cracked welds.

Part of me agrees with the "let's give them a chance" mentality, but the overwhelming part of me is disappointed in a company that rushes production of poorly assembled springers and believes their "chance" has already been given by the number of consumers who have already purchased their product.

It is not ten or so rifles out of thousands.

It is several major problems out of a small number of new buyers on this forum in this particular case, which is a very poor ratio.

These problems as shown on GTA are consistent.

These problems are well known outside of the US and have been for years.

There is nothing special about the run of Hatsan rifles reaching the US. They are not a "rushed batch". They are not a "special" shipment. They are nothing more than the same exact thing anyone else in any other country gets. Hatsan Arms merely takes orders, and ships em out.

There is no direct parts availability. Any parts must come from other vendors for rebranded versions.

Customer service does not exist with Hatsan USA. What customer service there is with Hatsan USA's third party processor, is slow, poorly executed, and maddeningly frustrating. Your options are to get a refund/replacement from whatever vendor you purchased from.

To receive a defective product once is forgiveable. To be unable to contact a service representative, have to hound corporate, wait three days for a final acknowledgment of the problem and a resolution, then have another not only damaged, very poorly packaged, possibly used, but incorrect product sent as a replacement is indeed unforgiveable.

They're shipping me a Sniper yes. However, with what this has cost me, I could have bought one in the first place, which is not what I wanted. (I should have just refunded to be honest)

So yes, I am done with Hatsan.

Anyone else wants to purchase a Hatsan rifle that is entirely their choice. At least with this forum, others will have a full range of customer experiences to draw from and make an informed decision with. I certainly hope no one else shares my particular experience, although I do believe at least two other members in fact already have.

I was just stating that judging by the feedback Hatsan has gotten on the web, I will not purchase one now. That may change if they put a little more QC in.

Any manufacturer will change its QC if they have a recognized poor product and they want to stay in business. What it takes is both feedback and returns of goods affected. Just in my opinion and experience, it pays NOT to get back to agents/ importers/ distributors too much as they do not fully pass on your sentiments to the manufacturer, and, it's not uncommon to find piles of returned products which have not been sent back to manufacturers in the corners of their warehouses or tin sheds. All they want is their cut of the profits - your money, and as long as we get a replacement, we're happy aren't we..?? I mean, it DID come from the manufacturer, didn't it..?? Not likely...

When I get peeved off too much I like to contact the manufactuer myself and either tell them what's wrong or give them a piece of mind... Once or twice I have got on the wrong foot with an agent or two by contacting the manufacturer over their heads, and they've let me know they didn't like that,, but when it's my time and money, I don't like any Joe Hunt not doing his best for me - "don't want to upset the supplier do we?",, that's usually their motto. Too many of those creeps in business for my liking. They known as middlemen and don't do much for me...

I certainly hope the worst has peaked for Hatsan because I still want a model or two from then but am a mind to wait and see...

Man, that stinx.  So much potential there, too.  Seems like they were doing great when they first started importing to the U.S, then went downhill.  Maybe QC has slipped in order to keep pace with demand?  I sure hope they get it together.

What's bad is how easy it would be to correct the issues causing most of the problems.
Don't leave slivers of metal from cuts on the piston to break loose and get in the action.
Blow the metal shavings out of the piston and compression chamber.

Hopefully they will put forth the effort to do that at least.

Some real customer service and making parts available would be the icing on the cake.

 Spoken like a general, that was good information ,and spot on, makes sense, a lot of members would not think of that, and do the same thing, just get it exchanged thru the dealer, who cares if the item is a toaster or coffee pot lol 
but when it comes down to our air rifles, I sure will be in touch with the manufacturer.

Plus the Webley Pat will put 24 grain lead out from the muzzle roughly at 725+fps!  Now that has my vote as a competent .25 cal springer!

I would most definitely buy a Hatsan PCP!  Nothing but good read about them other than being loud!  They really should shroud those barrels for use backyard shooters!  How much more can that cost!!!!!!  Come on Hatsan, shroud those PCP's!

Yeah, Hatsan's higher end stuff, Snipers, PCPs', definitely show a better trend towards good QC. Gene's testing has been very positive with the PCP's.  Going with lesser cost base models though is a very iffy proposition.

True, but the Patriot seems to be one springer they have or still try to do right according to all the reviews from competent reviewers that I have uncovered through the internet search.  Only bad reviews for the most part on the Turkish Patriot is weight of the rifle; undersized piston seal which can be rectified easily; and fact it is no longer UK made for the purist.  Oh I know it will not compare to a UK made Patriot but like you said.......BIG BUCKS!

There are other slight issues or hangups but you will and I have even found those from searching on the Weihrauch as well!  All manufacturers will have some negative and all will have a few lemons.  As long as the lemon can be made into lemonade I am willing to try it out.

Yes, my 125 sniper camo 22 cal is a dog but, I really like the design and power of it.I didn't bother to return it. I figured I just get another bummer so I sent it out to be tuned.I definitely want a black 125 in 25 cal too.Guys have good reviews of them and if I have to have it tuned so be it.All guns should come from the factory ready to go with no tunes or repairs but,this is the nature of the beast.
