Today, upon returning home from wallyworld returning my Titan GP, my back yard, was CRAWLING with Nutters... they were FEASTING themselves upon the 12 lbs of sunflower seeds i had placed out there for the cardinals.  with the trigger removed from my gamo currently, i was SOL upon getting any more freezer fodder. I tried loading up my slingshot with a 3/8 inch ball bearing, and i smacked one in the side, at about 8 yards, but he just scampered away, and barked at me from a tree.... i need about 3 more before Food porn will be broken in on the forums.  I intend to make Squirrel/nutter pot pies... and if i can get a few more eurasion doves... there getting pot pied as well...

also, i think there is a Bandit floating around, we keep hearing @$%^ in our back yard at night....

actually, my neighbors searchlight, came on. and there is a rather large possum.  j as soon as i get my AG back, its dead meat!  i don't know how possum is to eat... never eaten one... or a bandit... have to take ed's word on it!

I haven't tried possum yet but I've eaten raccoon and it is truly some good tasting meat 

If I ever get a possum I'll certainly give it a try. Looking forward to your food porn post

I was watching one of those exotic food shows on the Travel network and they were in West Vaginia in the mountains with some good old boys and girls.  They were having a cook out with Bandit and Possum.  They cooked them head and all right on the grill, then baked them in some kind of sauce.  The host referred to the bandit as very light delicate and tastey meat.  Not sure he liked the possum as well.  If my wife was out of town when I got my bandit raider a few weeks ago I just might have cleaned him up.  But I must say it was the foulest smelling animal.  It smelled of skunk and would be a challenge to clean well I fear.  I would love to try it, just not prepare it...

The folks that used to eat possum in the south, actually got them live.  They would put them in a cage much like a cow and fatten them up with better food before eating them.  I've never heard of anyone eating one that was killed in the wild. 

If you really want to eat a possum, I'd suggest a live trap and fatten the as above.
