Well, I'll give it a whirl! I think if I would do the trigger mods on the ole 953 it would make a huge difference. I'm relatively happy for my first go at it though!

sorry didnt get a chance to shoot a 10m match this weekend.  I am still working on the new 953 with diopter sights.  some times im "there" some times not.  I'll see if i cant get a match in with it for the next round - it is so different to shoot than any of my other rifles, it takes practice!

I am still working on the new 953 with diopter sights.  some times im "there" some times not.  I'll see if i cant get a match in with it for the next round - it is so different to shoot than any of my other rifles, it takes practice!

I know the feeling. I shot our indoor 3P smallbore matches the first season using a scope. During the summer high power season, I set
the smallbore rifle up with a bloop tube/front aperture and rear aperture. My scores dropped from the low 190's to the high 170's to
low 180's.  (of 300 possible)
It took several weeks of shooting two to three times a week to get back where I was. I found that I was using too small of front aperture,
going to a slightly larger one gave me a much better/clearer sight picture.  Don't hesitate to experiment with them.

It is really satisfying though to shoot apertures. Your lucky to have such a nice shooting rifle. I have an 853 but I just cant get
it to fit right, just feels too small/light. It is an incredible shooter though.
Hang in there brother, you will find that your "off" days will come farther apart.

Thanks Brushy Bill. Magnum springers is all I have, and I haven't gotten over my magnumitis   A TX200 is on my short list but right now I can't justify the expense. BTW, I found one of your old scores and you shoot awesome.....199 !?!? "dang", that's hot! Has anyone ever got a 200?

I don't think anyone has ever posted a 200 in a match, Andy, aka Larkspawn has posted
some 199's.

I did shoot a 200 on some practice targets.

I never post practice targets for match scores. I know the matches are set up to do that, (don't have a problem with it,
I wish folks could find the time to shoot a hundred targets to pick their match scores from) but I prefer not to.

I like the added pressure of knowing this is my "for record" target,, I shoot one target as a warm up and then
hang and shoot the target I will post. I get what I get.

That is one of the nice things about these matches, we can all get from them what we, as individuals need.
