How is the muzzle brake attached to the barrel? I removed the set screw but the MB will not move. I did not try to force it but I wonder if there are threads also.

try using a heat gun or your wifes hair dryer . if that dont work take a piece of plastic like a screwdriver handle and put it against the back of the mb and tap with a hammer just dont hit hard nuff to damage anything . mabe somebody else has a better way to remove it . but i'd try heat first ,might be locktited or something else .

your gonna have to heat it up and try to twist at the same time and it'll take some heat so be patient,
