My dad picked this 101 up at a flea market in VA for 50 bucks and it shoots hard.Its at least 55 to 60 years old.

Great find! Seldom do you encounter a 101 in that condition---and certainly not at that price.

Some times i get lucky in more ways then one. I asked my Dad to keep his eye out and at 83 he is still sharp.

That rifle is in unbelievable condition for being so old. I thought I did OK when my wife found a '49 Crosman 100 (.177) for $50.00. She found it in local Peddler Magazine and bought it own as an anniversery present me.

But of course has the normal wear but did come with all the paper work as it had been sent to an authurize Crosman repair center to be resealed. The owner was in his 70's and got it when he was a kid.

When my dad told me about i didn't think it was going to be this nice i kinda knew what is was and .22Cal to boot she shoots hard and is pretty accurate for a old dog.

Well i shot it over the chrony today with a crosman 14.3 pellet and to my suprise i got 615fps holy &^^&.

How many pumps? I found a my manual for the 102 ,it says four is enough but not to exceed six ...lol

Yup, gotta love flea markets. Never know what'll pop up. I had been talking about going to the local one here for months, and the one time I finally do, I get flooded with AG's lol. Really nice find there. What's really amazing is the build quality of the old guns. I mean seriously, just finding an old pumper that will still build pressure is amazing enough, but for it to shoot as well at those velocities? Very cool.

I think the manual for the 101 says not to exceed 12 pumps. Tom of Buzzard Bluff would be able to tell you.

IIRC at this late date the manual of my '48 model said 8 was the upper limit. Tom

You are very lucky.

I have one that is a borderline shooter, but the bbl and tube have been stripped to the brass. Neat lookers for sure.

Just like most pumpers, store it with a pump or two to keep pressure on seals. Secret sauce is okay, but that is a leather pump seal most likely, so dont overdo it.
I think the period manual called for 5 pumps, and somewhere around 500 fps power output.
You have the heavy striker, so provided springs are all good, you should be able to dump as much as you put in it....I would personally not go past 10, and just keep it lubed.

Great hunter potential. You need to cock it first, then pump desired amount. Load the gun. HOld the hammer back and pull the trigger, and let it gently move forward. Now you are safe. all ya gotta do is pull the hammer back, and she's ready to roll.
