Couple of old Daisy's new to me

Have these coming and can't wait to play with them. The first is a 1984 853. Second is supposed to be a 1970's Daisy Power Line.

Really nice looking rifles.  I have gotten into the daisy powerline series also.  Neatest one is a 990 which is pump up or CO2.  I think I posted pictures on this forum.

I know very little about these since I bought them from that auction. Never really had any daisy's that were not mostly plastic. Hoping these are better quality.

That's what I was thinking, but I'm no expert on target rifles, and didn't want to confirm my stupidity.

You will like the 853.  When you get it, look up the Pilkington Trigger Mod.  Won't make it into a Rekord but will make it a bit easier to control.  They are very accurate and a lot of fun, especially for indoors.

No prob, and remember, that 1-1/2 pound pull they mention is for the competition shooters lower limit. Based on doing a thorough bump-check and safety catch functional check, you can go lighter. They use a weight and barrel hold to check the trigger but, a Lyman trigger gauge or even a good fish scale will do the trick as hung on the trigger (zero set of course). Also, that 8-32 screw looks almost too large, maybe a 6-32 is a cleaner and more proportional size?

I have become so spoiled with 10 oz triggers 1.5 lbs is gonna take some getting used too

Couple of nice guns I enjoy my 853 Great with open sights or scope. Your gold daisy 880 looks cool. I have two of those from the seventys one is a smoothbore an other is rifled. The smoothbore is my favorite bb-shooter pretty accurate with dasiy zinc bb,s at 15 yd,s. My rifle 880 is deadly with tech force h-p I,ve shot some very small groups at 25 yd,s. If your is a smoothbore shoot some bb,s if rifled try alot of different pellets you may be surprise with great accuraccy.

 I've had an 853 for well over 20 years. Same Walther barrel (and accuracy!) as the Full Monte target model 753. I've updated mine with  the trigger mod and a better stock and even have the Full Monte Walnut fully adjustable target stock that Numrich Arms once sold as a 2nd for $20 waiting on me to get inspired to do a final sanding and finish.

 I doubt that you'll be disappointed.

 BTW----I'm a full-blown trigger snob. Do the mod carefully and I think you'll be a happy camper.   Tom

Afterthought Dept. :
 The bottom rifle appears identical to a .22 caliber I overhauled for a local customer. It was so accurate that it took every bit of my early training in principles and morals to not lie to him and tell him that it wasn't rebuildable!

The rifle in the bottom photo looks more like a Sears Model 799-xxxxxx to me.  I've had one since it was bought brand new in the late seventies...  They are made by Daisy, but were sold under the Ted Williams brand by Sears.  Great little air rifle, except for the fact that it had a smooth bore barrel.
