Side lever vs breaker?

I like my side cockers, or under levers best. I just prefer that my barrels stay where they are.

Just bought my first underlever and did so over a few side levers just because they (side levers) look, well, unbalanced!  I know, probably not but I like symmetry.

Of all my tuned guns, even including the Weihrauch, the 48 22 t06 side cock fixed barrel is my most accurate weapon.

No difference in those terms. Fixed barrels can offer improved shooting precision, but a fair comparison would have to be made with an equivalent break-barrel. Fixed barrel side and under levers tend to be heavier than "equivalent" break barrels. A RWS 48 would likely shoot more accurately in the long haul in the right hands than a 34.

I think where a fixed bbl will have an advantage over a breaker is with scoped sights, or bbl/tube mounted sights versus bbl/bbl mounted on a breaker.

Good lockup is important on break bbl, BUT, as long as there is no slop or movement when locked, it can be every bit as accurate as a fixed bbl. WITH open sights.  Some, even with scopes.....look at HW....you dont see any complaints from their break bbls.

Where the gun has an opportunity to loose its precise-ness (Is that a word?) is when precision sights are used, IE a scope is mounted.   If lockup is not 100% consistant each time with a break bbl, then you can have issues with a scoped gun, of course.

In a perfect setup where machining is right, screws are tight, a break bbl will hit where the bbl is pointed every time.   A fixed bbl will hit where the gun is pointed each time. JMHO, so mileagae may vary .

i think im going to go with a fixed side lever then i have very bad luck when it comes to getting something without any problems as ways haven to send stuff back for repair and what not as soon as i get it hopefully it doesint happen with my new air gun.

Since you are talking a D48/52 or a D54 go for the 22 version its alot of power in a .177

It really depends on what you prefer.  My 48 since its a side cock I am able to put a barrel mounted bipod on it,  and since it a solid barrel you dont have the barrel droop issue.

Both have their nice features and, with today's guns, are about equally accurate.  (Witness how many pre-PCP target guns were almost exclusively break barrels.)  I find the break barrel much easier to load and, in the case of magnums, a bit easier to cock.  The side lever needs to be braced and is subject to the dreaded belt buckle or pants rivet ding in the cheek piece.  Yes, I bought a like-new safe queen 54 and graced it's stock with a couple of dings courtesy of Levis Strauss within five or six shots.  (It's sort of like joining a club, judging from the responses to the post I made about it.)

I have a D 48 & D460 very accurate but very heavy. I still like them better then a break barrel.

My 470 underlever is alot more accurate than my break barrels. Everyday at the same range same ammo same day my fixed barrel 470 will out shoot any other springer i have.

When it comes to ultimate accuracy AND just an experience in it's self shooting .... No finer SIDE COCKING air rifle in my stable than the Diana 75 !!
If your under 30 yards, hitting aspirin tablet size targets is easy easy, such an awesome shooter.

Never owned a side lever but would be willing to try. I'll put it on my want list. I do know my under lever is the most accurate in my stable.

One "problem" with my breaker was when I brought the barrel back up, I did it with different force. That affected my vertical POI. Now I'm using the same motion/force when I cock the breaker and the POI is a lot more consistent.
