Between you and Tarheel I am going to be up to my eyeballs in airguns and airgun parts within 2 weeks at this rate.
I have a harbor freight work bench that has the vise and bench dogs which would work like a compressor and also have bar clamps. Could put a c clamp over the barrel as a safe guard.I'm just wondering as I haven't taken a wfh apart before. If it already has the cross np in it it can't be to complicated to just put the n forcer in there, just add the spacer of 1/16". Have the tools just never done it or seen it done. Would deffinately go for the N-Forcer. Very disappointed in the crossman np...only getting 730-740 fps with 14.3 grain pellets in 22. My Trail gets that.Probably the same NP that PA installed in it.
tar heel has been looking into it pretty good, not sure if paul also has come up with what to order. yes it should fit easily since your rifle was set up with a gas spring, providing the new ram is the perspective size length wise
I just got the quote for MOELLER Gas Rams faxed to me, a few minutes ago . . .They will be $60.00 each and there is NO PROBLEM with ordering only 1 item or being an Individual and not a Company. They have no "minimum order".Dave
That's super, Dave! That is the same price as the N-forcer...and it appears it has more force gain for the identicallly colored and rated piston! Thanks,Mark
Dave,Spacing and pre-load are extremely critical...I put a washer in my WFH .25 that was just a bit too thick, and the sear let go after I had cocked it. I am glad I had not gotten to the point of trying to insert a pellet. That was with the N-Forcer 19-125 yellow. I am almost betting that you will get a more stable improvement (and safer) with a Red rated pistion. It will be easier to cock and will provide less stress on the sear and piston seal. I am also thinking that it will last far longer than a Crosman XL piston in the same application. I believe that most of them are rated for at least 200,000 cycles...and some up to 500,000 cycles. Plenty of pellets can be pushed before they wear out!Mark[/quote if you want to be able to install a washers so everything is free to twist, just use a hand grinder with your thin metal cut off wheel and cut the difference off, then use the grinder wheel to re shape the end . i did that on a project when i used the crosman benjamin gas ram[/size]
