I'm so tickled, I just have to crow a little. Have received a 'refurb' RWS34 Classic .22 from Airgunsdaily and it is absolutely pristine. I would even wonder if it had been taken out of the box. It has the new T06 trigger but does NOT have the notorious 12 groove barrel. Ran a Boresnake through the bore and it shines like a mirror. Broke it down and the insides are flawless. Not a scratch anywhere and the wooden stock is beautiful. This is the greatest air rifle deal that I ever fell into. I am also surprised by the sights; they are of extremely high quality and the front sight has a covered red glow-dot in it and I can hardly wait to try it out.

Don't know if this will replace my old and favored Ruger Blackhawk which up to now has been the greatest AG I have ever fired but time will tell. Will try the RWS out for the next couple of days and if she passes muster, will get a new Vortek heavy spring kit into her and a new Hammers scope and see what we can do.

Will try to keep this posting updated as to where this is going.

Glad to hear you are happy with it. RWS makes some really nice air rifles and bang for the buck the 34 is hard to beat. Congrats!

My best springer ever was a model 34 in .177 caliber. Did a Maccari tune and this gun shot like a tack driver. Congrats.

It ain't an iconic break-barrel for nothing. The 34 ( and it's fancier 35/36 sisters) are just the beginning step for most serious AG collectors and enthusiast looking into quality German ( and UK) made spring piston guns. The 34 is an excellent entry level springer of better than average build quality. I've owned and shot the stronger and pricier Diana rifles but the 34 remains my favorite model by far. Congrats, and welcome to the fraternity of Diana 34 ownership!!

To me the 34 is an entry level rifle with class.

Excellent shooters with great accuracy. I love mine.

Well, this little girl proved herself today. She didn't seem to need any break-in and really strutted her stuff. I mounted a new Hammers 3-9X32AO on her tonight and will give her a good shakeout for the next couple of days. Might be interesting since I have a few freshly hatched nutters hanging around the wife's bird feeders. Already got one with the old tried and true Blackhawk this morning but now it's time to let the new kid on the block have a chance.

If everything still looks good with the RWS34 by next Monday, I have a Vortek .130 spring and seal to be installed. Gosh, am I having fun!!!

Well, I've been testing this little honey for a few days now with the new Hammers scope attached and it has zeroed in nicely. Initial testing scared me a bit because I thought that it had barrel droop but I did something wrong because with several days shooting, little by little, I have had to move the vertical knob about 2 full turns down and everything seems to be settling down. Don't quite understand this continued mechanical improvement on it's own but it is working very nicely and I will keep enjoying the experience. Not only is the 34 performing extremely well but the Hammers scope is a sheer delight. I seriously don't think that if the Leapers 3-9X32OA goes away, I'll miss it.

I also can't say enough for the T06 trigger. Didn't think that the Melick tuned T05 that I am used to could be improved upon but this 34 has been an absolute dream with trigger smoothness and predictability.

Can't give any velocity figures yet because I haven't taken the time to chrony it but it promises to be pretty high for an out-of-the box rifle; cocking this girl takes at least as much effort as my RWS350 .22 and it seems to be hitting HARD.

I still can't hardly believe that I lucked into this little beauty for only $145. If I ever get this chance again, I might just own 2 of these

(Joyous) Update: On an end to the mystery of the vertical creep, there was none on the day that I started this (yesterday). Today, if there was any creep left, it was almost imperceptible. So then I got real serious and set up 2 fresh targets, set up my padded tripod, and tried two groups. Oye vey; right off the bat, did 2 separate 5 shot groups at 10 yards that each fit within a nickle. I am confidant that since I am still breaking this girl in, the groups will get better. I am going to consider this problem solved but am strongly considering calling someone from Umarex or RWS tomorrow to see if they have ever heard of this problem. From when I first started trying to zero this girl, I have had to screw the vertical adjustment on the scope down a full 3 turns.

Quite a few people end up sending 34's back without even shooting them.
One look at the breech O ring and its back in the box.

i have been shooting mine now for about a week its also 22 cal mine never dieseled or anything but the accuracy is pretty irratic. i have one in .177 with a to5 trigger and it blows my new one away in the accuracy dept. its an 8 groove barrel which if i am not mistaken is the good one but not so happy with it yet. one thing thats making me super mad is the front stock screws keep coming loose every 50 shots or so. i will probably never tear the gun apart so they may get the permenant treatment of some red loctite. i have about ten different pellets i have tried so far of them rws superpoints seem the best so far out to 20 yards but after that accuracy goes to *(&^. 30 yards on is pretty disappointing.the scope rings may be the culprit i dont know i bought the rws 6 power scope to go on it that came with their own rings. i dont understand why rws would include rings that arent up to the task though but other companies do it all the time i just expect more from rws. anyways just a rant. take care everyone

edwierd , do what i did to 1 of my 34's it had a habit of loosening up the front screws . i took 1 to a hardware store [lowes ] and got 2 screws that were 1/4" longer and 2 nuts . i had to grind the nuts and screws down just a little , i screwed the new screws in tight and put the nuts inside on the screws and tightened them up . it hasnt loosened up any at all and that was over 1000 shots ago . cost me about $1.25 to make a permanent cure

i will give that a try before i go nuts with the loctite. i love my rws guns i have the 34 in both calibers and the 48 in 22 but sometimes they get fussy and it seems like every time i take them out i have to re adjust my scopes. i dont think my scope on my 48 is holding up its a leapers 3-9 and now when i adjust windage it doesnt want to turn then when it lets go it wants to click 2-4 times i may need to invest in some good glass and mounts one of these days instead of going out and buying another gun but its so hard to not buy that new gun isnt it. take care everyone
