Something else you should be aware of. Doc Beeman imported a lot of guns during his time, not all of which were made by HW. Diana, Gamo, BSA to name a few. So, a Beeman name doesn't mean it will be an HW. Then he retired and sold the business. Beeman (the company) then started rebading a lot of cheap Spanish (not so bad) and Chinese (not so good) models. About a year ago, Beeman split up into two companies. One has continued with the higher line guns such as HW. The other imports the cheap stuff.Sometimes I think that, if you want to top end HW, you might consider the older Beeman imports from when he first contracted with them. Much nicer touches - checkering, grip caps, cheekpieces, etc.
Yes, the original Beeman Co. imported Webley, Diana, FWB and even a Brocock or two, among others. Then, they sold to SR Industries, maker of the infamous 1010 BB pistol and Marksman guns in Huntington Beach, CA. SR then sold out to the Chinese and they manage the lo-end Beeman guns (Beeman in name only) and the good stuff (HW guns) are part of the U.S. distribution through PA and PA to other retailers thru their Air Venturi company. Hard to follow the lineage, let alone the money in this convoluted evolution!
