Thanks for the info guys.As for the Teflon tape, can I use the white plastic pluming tape that I use for the pluming on my garden hoses? I believe that is Teflon tape.I will try to tighten it down first before removing anything and see how that goes. If it doesn't work then you know you guys will be sure to hear from me again very soon! Thanks again!
One thing you need to make sure of is that the air tube has enough pressure in it to cause sever bodily injury. MAKE SURE THE PESSURE IS DOWN TO ZERO! After that you can fix any leak you find.Norm
I got good news guys! And yes I did call crosman. They told me to check the fill adapter and gauge for leaks using soapy water, or if I did not feel capable of doing this task I could send it in.Anyways, after tightening the valve was unsuccesfull I went and grabbed some high grade Teflon tape (my precious rifle only gets the best!). Removed the gauge and low and behold there was basically no teflon tape there in the first place So I rigged it up with some tape, pumped it up to 2000 psi and now it was leaking even worse! Oh NOOOOOO. So I removed the gauge again to check my work and the darn tape did not seat properly and just slide up the threads. This time I made sure the tape stuck in the threads and tightened her down nice and snug, pumpd it back up to 2000 psi, checked for audible leak, none. Now on to the soap test, no bubbles.SUCCESS!!!
