Geco was a distributor of Diana air rifles and it is not uncommon to see them so marked (like the RWS logo). Your gun is a Diana 25. Not sure what a 25A is. I only know the 25 and 25D (adjustable trigger). A picture would be helpful in narrowing it down.

The 25 should shoot 550 fps in 177call an about 430-450 in 22cal. Nice lightweight plinker most have the direct sear trigger but to me they feel pretty nice . mine problemly have a lot of wear on them. Value is about 50.00 for ave an 100.00 for real nice one. I like them have four of them 2 in 177 cal an 2 in 22cal. also the older ones don,t have a scope rail.

A good 25 will cost you a bit more than $100. The 25D can run up to $150, depending upon condition. These are very nice short range guns, not "boy's rifles".

I'm sorry it is a 25D not "A"!
I can say that anything beyond 20 yds and your lucky to even hit the target. I have shot an empty pop can at ~40 yds and all it did was dent the thing. However I have taken many birds (few crows as well) with this gun!
and it is a .177, which way do you turn the screw to shorten the second stage?

Have you oiled the piston seal? Sounds like it has dried out a bit. Not sure about which screw does what. Might want to ask on the DWC -

(No - wait. It's a dog gun! I'll give you fifty bucks for it.

My info is, the 25D's can really shoot well for a small gun. I would do the maintenance and replace what is necessary, and have fun.
I am currently "looking" for one here in Germany, to practice renewing the bluing, there are some really nice strong ones for $30 to be found.
