Just got a HW97K and it is twangy

So I just received my nickel HW97K with the synthetic stock and i can't help but notice how twangy it is. I haven't mounted a scope yet to see how accurate it is, but I don't think I'd want to try and break it in when it's this twangy. I recently shot a new and out-of-box TX200 MKIII, and in comparing the two, it is true that the TX200 feels and sounds tuned, this one on the other hand, sounds like my Gamo. Okay, it's not that bad, but it's still painful. I ordered a Vortek kit for the HW97K, because I don't think I will enjoy it that much with all this noise by my ear. In the meantime, I'll mount a scope on it, just to check for accuracy.
Okay, that's enough of my complaining.
On a good note, it is beautiful. Stock feels great. The nickel is something to marvel at. It has a subtle yellowish tint (the coating) which, to me, makes it look so cool. At the moment, it's not very balanced because there's no scope on it, but I would expect it to balance very well once I remedy that issue.
The main reason I chose this over the TX200, is I like to switch my loading arm every so often. The TX200 doesn't allow for that. And aside from that fact, I have one very accessible for me to shoot when I want to shoot one. The reason why I mentioned the TX200? Because that's usually the "other" airgun that gets compared to this airgun.
I'll try and put in a review if I can spare some time.

you can tame those factory innards pretty easy all HW's for the most part have some twang out of the box! you can lube it thru the cocking slot without taking it apart and that will work for awhile, it takes about 1k shots for them to calm down

Congratulations.
It is my FT springer shooter. It is accurate and awesome. Before you put a kit into it, try just giving it a bit of a lube tune and then seeing how amazingly accurate it shoots. After a couple of tins the twang is reduced, but not gone... but my 97 is soooo accurate to me, I can't outshoot it's abilities and I cannot bring myself to mess with its mojo...I am just sucking it up and learning to live with the combination of twang and outstanding accuracy.. I put a Vortek kit into my R9 instead...

I have a new HW97KT .20 as well. It is also a little twangy but, incredibly accurate. I only have a few hundred pellets through her so far. I'll eventually send her out to be tuned but for now I enjoy shooting as is. The rifle is worth every penny I payed. Literally, one hole groups when I do my part.

My 97K is a .22 and has very little twang. Its at about 1500 shots. My TX200 .177 when it was stock was smoother and now tuned is incredible. I have read that the smaller cal 97's are a little more twangy.
I will someday tune the 97 ,but for now I enjoy shooting both equally.
Congrats on your new german girl!
