Rws daina mod.24 ....need rebuid info !

Need help finding a rebuild kit or the parts for a RWS daina model 24, for my dads favorite killer older than me, really,really means alot....any info helps

Here's a good place to start to find a kit for almost any air rifle out there.

This place has been making springs for decades, and many consider them some of the best out there for aftermarket parts.  I've used some myself and they do seem to lead to a nicer shooting gun than ones with just original parts. 

If you order a new spring or seal, you might look at ordering a set of Maccari lubes at the same time.  They are some of the standard lubes used by airgun tuners, though of course there are others out there too.  I ordered Maccari moly, heavy tar, and the clear lube.  I've used them on about 6 guns so far, and I haven't even put a dent into my supply.  Well worth the 20-25$ I think. 

Just find out if you have a leather or synthetic seal in the 24 and you can probably order something from the ARH site.  I think there are likely even conversion kits for many older guns to replace leather seals with synthetic ones. 

I hope to hear you've gotten your dad's old Diana 24 up and running again in no time!

I don't know if Maccari makes a drop in replacement spring. His seals should fit your M24.

You could ask around the Dianawek Collective for help too.

You might want to contact John in PA.  He tunes Diana guns and has done wonderful work on the 24.  If your want that gun to really shine, and brighter than before, contact him.  (A good tune isn't really much more than the price of a kit, plus he will set everything right that might be amiss.)

Thank you very much redfeather, this perticular rifle is very important, im going to use my tax refund money to have it reborn for my dad, i just saw it two days ago its still in beautiful shape and still shoots good but not as hard as it once was , thanks again

The rose of memory bears no thorn.  That 24 might be shooting nearly as well as it ever did.  There are two 24's - the early "skinny tube" and the later "fat tube".  I believe the last ones shared compression tubes and internal parts with the 34.  The fat tubers are supposed to shoot a bit hotter - almost like an R7.  What is the date on the compression tube?  It will be above the trigger near the rear of the tube on the left hand side.  Two sets of tiny (and I mean tiny) numbers, just above the wood line.  "mm yy"

I think that all 24's have synthetic piston seals.  You might want to put one or two very spare drops of RWS chamber lube in through the transfer port and work the piston back and forth slowly, especially if it has been sitting a long time.  If you don't have the lube you can probably get away with a drop of pure silicone oil.  It won't combust like motor oil or 3-in-1, WD40, and other petroleum-based lubes.  Those are all no-no's in spring air guns.

I have a model 24, built in 1982, which I rebuilt a few years ago.  I was able to source some parts from Jim Maccari, and some from TW Chambers in Scotland.  You might check with them for a spring and such.
