It's funny how everyone who culls pest birds and vermin know the feel of having the right gear for all situations . I live in a pest rich area at times and with 4 flower and veggie gardens to tend to i have an eye out raccoons crows and spotless  starlings have grown wise . Step in public enemy #1 out my side door i keep a feeder at the edge of my garden and fence .  While checking my plants i noticed a small borrow and a clean path to the seed dish .Thinking good times are ahead i clean up the area and start to limit the seed and wait . Cover the holes with dirt and keep watch 3 days passed and there she was but the door was closed yesterday she ran by once and never showed again but i know shes hungry .I have been covering the seed at night and the last few birds all but cleaned it up before dark. 6 am this morning i uncover the seed soon the birds where feasting  and like the mexican day worker told me be patiant and calm with this quarry so i spin the wheel and keep my arms ready 50 minutes later paydirt from the right a head shot and a unspooked dead piece of vermin  at 7 yards it's a money shot for the P5 .17 cal shooting RWS 8.2 grain superpoints clean through the eyes  this rat flipped over dead and there was no entry wound to be seen notice the feedhole next to the fence post gateway to death it seams for this rat shot taken from infront of my computer watching sportscenter 6:50am am good advice

Nice shot and story Chris!  I like that setup you got.  Not even raccoons can move that piece of log over, well maybe a big one  

I am surprised the rat came out in broad daylight.  They just can't resist a free meal.  I really like what you 've done to the P5 with the Crosman butt frame.  I bet it's more accurate and easier to shoot now.
