Winchester 1000 is a Hatsan ?

I bought a Scoped Winchester 1000 in 2007 @ Bass Pro for $100.
Made in Turkey, rough, unrefined, and overall just a rude gun.
I'm not sure if I tore into it or not? That year I had several gun projects going on.
I might have given it a cleaning and mild tune but I really can't remember.
I'm sure they're hold sensitive and you can get used to the trigger but,
Has anyone owned one of these and put any effort into making it into a smoother gun with any reward or satisfying results?

I have several of these, all three versions of the Winchester/Daisy/Powerline units from 2001-2007. They are definite nail drivers and NEED some TLC to show their potential. I have reworked most of mine and rebuilt the trigger groups. My last adventure included having Gene make me the adapter parts to convert one to NP. He took one of mine and converted it himself.
They are VERY powerful and extremely accurate.

Good news then. I'll tear into her soon.
I Never saw this particular model so I assume it was a Bass Pro only offering. It's a 1000. That's it just 1000. Completely plain stock (they usually had them lines down them) and it came with a Winchester 4x32 thrown in.

I have a Hatsan 60s .22 which is the same gun as the Winchester 1000. I agree you need to put a bit of work into them but once you do they can be fantastic. Mine will outshoot my Vortek'd HW80 as far as accuracy goes and isn't far behind in power either. Will spit out 14.3 @ 800 fps.

Whatever you want. LOL
But seriously, a basic home tune/lube to start. The trigger group needs a lot of TLS. Carefully smoothing and polishing all contact surfaces. And even making new trigger blades modified to add an additional screw to make it a two stage trigger. It all depends on your skills or if you want to send it off to have it done professionally. It will make a HUGE difference in performance.

Wow, that was quick. Tell us what you did and the results. We enjoy hearing the adventures of others and we can all probably learn something new.

Nothing new here.
Lubed and polished the spring.
Rear guide was plastic already. I inserted a thin plastic washer under the front of the spring.
Seal seemed fine.
Polished all of the contact points of the trigger and replaced both springs with soft ball point pen springs.
The trigger is now manageable and predictable. It's no 3lb'er but much better.
Shooting  is a solid clunk without twang and un-disruptive to aim so long as you soft hold her.
I still get tired cocking this thing, hard as cocking is so is the first crack to break the barrel.
Not sure what to do about that? Hopefully it will break in.

Overall I now like the gun a lot and don't look down on it as just a cheap $89 Daisy! I've still never saw a plain stock model 1000.
I Cant wait for a sunny day to chrony it. My seat of the pants chrony feel solidly in the 800's with 8.5gr.
P.S. Who makes a metal trigger for this?
