yup, because of more power behind the pellet... the heavy hammer spring in a disco is used to give the 18.1gr pellets the same velocity as the 15.9gr pellets

If you install the heavy hammer spring and wish to take full advantage you will need to fill to 2400 psi.... ie the top of the yellow area on the pressure gauge.... While Crosman don't specifically say there is any safety problem doing that, the safety margin on the valve screws is reduced below 2:1.... so it's a decision only you can make....

How much extra power do you get from the heavy hammer spring in a .22 Disco with the 14.3 grain CPHP's? I have got some JSB's 18.1 grains coming and how many FPS do you get with a stock Disco with them?

In conjunction with a 2400 psi fill, you get about 70-80 fps gain.... I got about 760-770 fps with 18.1s in a stock Disco.... so with the heavy hammer spring they should give about the same velocity as 14.3s in a stock gun.... ballpark....

How safe is it to fill the gun to higher pressure and where on the gauge do you fill it up to the green or yellow.

Filling past 2000 psi reduces the safety margin on the valve mounting screws below 2:1.... If you want to read up on it, here is the appropriate thread....
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php/topic,25091.0.html
The top of the yellow zone is about 2400 psi and that is where the heavy hammer springs work the best for maximum shot count.... If you only fill to 2000 psi you will simply get fewer shots as the peak of the velocity string is at about 1800 psi with 18 gr. pellets.... Filling to 2000 psi and refilling at 1500 will give you the ten best shots in the string....
