I've Read alot about depingers for the Mrods

 Is it really worth the troble to install one in rifle ? Or should rifle be left as is? I mean it looks simple to do, but does it really help with sound Db's or noise levels as far as sound reduction goes???

I havent done mine yet...so I can only comment on what I've read.  There's a couple of different designs, and I dont remember reading anything negative about them.  Once installed, they did their job and took most or all of the ping away.  I never read about anybody saying that it was a failure or waste of time.
Personally, I'm going to take the DIY route, and use the 2 inch length of 1.5 inch vinyl tubing.  But first I have to stop shooting long enough to do the mod, and thats gonna be hard.  Its been a year and I'm still shooting my .22 Marauder every day.

Daveshooter keep in mind this has nothing to do with Db's or sound levels. It simply takes the ping or vibration out of the air tube. But it is worth it. I haven't done any tests, before or after, to see how far away the ping is heard when firing, but there is a big difference. The DIY mod is very simple and takes maybe 10 minutes.

You was right on the money on that keith. I just did mine with the vinyl- tubeing. No more ping just a thud of air comes out of the mighty 25 mrod Ha Ha....

Man i tell ya what this is sweet for sure. What a difference it made I shot a couple off into the ground not like before for sure sound wise. Than I fired into my steel bullet trap only loud sound was pellet hitting the steel of trap... I love this thing for sure.......

Glad you like your depinging, I'll be taking my .25 out in a few minutes for it's firs Mongoose hunt, maybe some hogs will show up too

I agree with you all on the depinger. I used the vinyl tubing and it took me about 5 min to install and put my gun back together. About 10 min of pumping after that though. It was well worth the time and the pumping. My .22 cal Mrod seems to be about 1/2 as loud!!! The majority of the noise is now the pellet hitting it's target.

ditto to what everyone just said...... after months of having my Mrod depinged, and seeing what a guy did on the yellow inspired me to also deping my Discovery, even though it isn't as noticeable as the marauder..it is there
