Hi
I have a RWS Diana 36 with a 4X32 AO scope and while I was doing some research on it I found and an old topic on this forum where they were commenting about the quality of the 36. I have a chance to pick up a RWS Diana 350 magnum with scope and/or a RWS Diana 48 with scope at a good price but I don't have the money to have all three.LOL There was a comment that the 36 was a better quality gun than the newer guns and I am now wondering if I would be making a mistake by selling the 36 in order to buy the other two. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your help. Ken

What cal are they? I wouldn't get them in .177 unless you are an experienced springer shooter. Both the 350 and 48 are more suited to .22 because of their power. If both are in .22 I'd get the 48 and keep your 36.
The 36 is a fancy stock model 34. Less powerful and easier to shoot than the 350 or 48.

Keep the 36 its better build fit and finish on older ones. Of the other two I would get the 48 over the 350.

I agree with the others in that the .177 cal really is best suited for the 350 or the 48. You can of course use heavier .177 cal pellets in those guns but in my opinion the power of the 350 and 48 is really designed for the .22 platform.

I had a .177 caliber 36 back in the 80's, great shooter, decent trigger, really nice build quality. Mine had a really tight breech, I had to use a Beeman Pell Seat when loading or closing the gun would bend the pellet skirts. I should have just reamed the breech a little, instead, I sold the gun. Big mistake, I've wanted to replace it ever since. Keep the 36, or sell it too me...

You can always find a 48 or 350 for sale. 36's don't often come up and, if anywhere near good condition, sell quickly. There's a reason for that.

I'd keep the 36 and try every way I could think of to get the others. Especially the 48.

I think I am beginning to agree with that but there is one big problem, I committed for the 350 before I found the 48!!!
I guess I will have to find something else to sell, like my Sheridans or Daisy's or...... Decisions, decisions, decisions. Thank again too every one for their help (I think). LOL

I agree keep the 36. The 350 in 177 is a power house and is super accurate once you master it. If your commited to the 350 dont feel like you lost out. Get some heavy pellets mine likes 10.2 gr jsb. Hn and beeman 10.65 gr shoot great groups but are slower. Shoot the snot out of the 350 and vortek it and youll have a nice tack driver with tons of power for long range shooting. Ive taken mine out to 100+ yards and its pretty impressive. I like mine in 177 and 22. In 22 cal the 350 is redonkulously powerful!

Easy one there. Keep the 36 and forget the 350 and the 48. Instead, save your money and get a .22 R1 or a used .22 RX series GasRam !!! 350's are a challenge (pita) to learn to shoot well. Especially in .177 caliber, and the novelty of the 48 side lever is either something you keep, or it wears away real fast. Given my druthers, the 36 is the best all around rifle of the three you've mentionned. Seriously.

Hey, the heck with the RX, there's a Whiscombe for sale right now for only $4500. I'm sure that those who have steered you into guns costing twice what you are looking at will gladly make up the difference.
No?
Don't worry about the 350. That's one heck of a nice gun. Just wish I could shoot one. Actually, I would prefer it over the 48. My advice if you really like the 48, wait until a good used 52 comes up. Same gun but way nicer looking.

Actually I have been wondering just what is the difference between the 48 & the 52. Is it just the looks?

Yes. The 52 has a 'nicer and fancier' stock. But why stop there,.... If you can find a 54 air-king instead, you would probably like it a whole lot better than both the 48 or 52.

Well you guys have created a monster. You talked me out of selling my 36 to get the 350 and a 48 so now I have both the 36 and a 350. You got me so fired up about the 52 and 54 that I am trying to sell the 350 so that I can afford to get one of them, but now I am having second thoughts about that. I am thinking about keeping the 350 and selling my Sheridan Blue and Silver Streak. The Blue Streak is the CWB which was made in Racine and has the factory installed Williams peep sight and the Sheridan is a C9A, both in .20 and in excellent condition. You started this which should I keep or is that a loaded question to ask on the German AirGun Gate. ha
