sear won't engage piston on titan

just finished putting the titan back togetherwith a new seal and now the sear wont catch on the piston, it seems the sear is not far enough forward. i just oh yeah just put a new c-tube and pivot bolt on titan because of my screw up with the sleeve retainer anyone got any ideas. i took my gold trigerr out and put the stock one back in, i also followed charlies trouble shooting tips when the gun wont cock, but that did not work. took the triger pack out of the g1 and i have the same problem......help dave

One thing that comes to mind with these Crosman trigger groups is the sear itself. When you reinstall the trigger group, the sear is spring loaded. You have to lift the sear and keep it up with a toothpick or jewlers screwdriver as you slide the assembly in place. If not, the sear will drop down and miss the sear slot. It will never catch that way. Just make sure the sear is lifted while sliding the assembly forward. Once the assembly is in place, release the sear by pulling the toothpick or jewlers screwdriver out. Sear should drop into the sear slot.

the trigger group is all the way in and the tip of the sear is resting were it should it even lifts up when cocking but does not catch the  piston

Something not in the correct position. Sounds like RAM is bottoming out before the piston gets completely back. Too much preload  or something not put back in the right place. Hard to say without having it in front of me.

you were right i think i found the problem, the barrel actually is hitting the live jam on the commpression tube. make a long story short this all started because i was swaping barrels when i realized i used the sleeve retainer insead of the blue locktight which cost me the tube and the pivot bolt. needless to say i should have bought a new ag but im pretty shure the barrel needs to be hit with a file..... i'll keel you posted
