Diana 350 or Trail xl

i want a break barrel to shot in between shoting my marauder the thing is i am spoiled by how accurate my marauder is and i have been reading alot of post about the trail having some iissues.

my question is what one of these two rifles would give the best accuraccy 35 yards and in.another thing is i have never tuned a gun and dont want to have to tune it before it shoots good.

another question is that i know the 350 would be louder but how much louder and could the sound be compared to my storm xt.

If you want a breakbarrel, how about going with neither?
You could get an NPSS, which is gas rammed, very quiet, reasonably powerful, comes with a very good scope and mount, has what is said to be a pretty good trigger that is also swappable for a GRT-III trigger, and is US made.
Both the choices you mention are said to have a bit of trouble holding within 1" @ 25 yards unless tuned.
Just going by what I see posted, although tuned versions are said to do much better.

The NPSS is a break barrel.  The Trail and NPSS are almost the same guns, so I would consider them about one in the same.  Crosman introduced the Nitro Piston Short Stroke last year, then changed the marekting to Remington, then added the nitro pistons to it's Chinese line (Trail being one.)  Doesn't the Trail accept Charlie's trigger?  Both the NPSS/Remington and Trail would benefit from the trigger upgrades.

The Diana 350 is the genuine article, not the clone (Chinese BAM28).  From what I have seen, especially by owners who have posted on the Dianawerk forum, they are great, powerful guns but you need to put in a LOT of time behind the trigger to master one.  Accomplish that and you have a hard hitting, very accurate hunter.  The Trail will be a good $100 cheaper than the 350 and has the gas ram if you like that over a wound wire spring.  I think you can do a bit more with the 350 in terms of tunes and power tweaking, since the spring is replaceable.  And it can be had with the Vortek kit.  If you don't want to spend as much, consider the BAM28 if they can still be had.  Also, Vortek, on their website, listed a BAM28 with their excellent kit for about the cost of a used stock 350.  It was their test gun, so I'm guessing a lot of wrinkles may have been ironed out in the process.  And due to the steep learning curve of the 350, you see quite a few used for a good bit off retail.  Buyers try them, shoot only a few times, and off it goes.

The NP XL. is powerfull, accurate and very quite, I like mine a lot

The Xl's are nice,mine showed up shooting well an has only gotten better. I have done a tune on it,but the seal was in decent shape(I even keep it for an emergency one).Two nice thing's is they can be taken down with just the basic hand tool's an the Weaver rail system. But in all honesty the Diana 350 is one heck of a nice gun also(not much help am I ?).

If your looking to hunt with your shooter then ether of the airguns mentioned would be a good choice but as mentioned with magnum power comes some harshness more so with magnum springers but even a gas rammed powered shooter responds great to a proper tune. Another thing to keep in mind is  scoping a magnum airgun some can give a scope a workout and even take them out so the scope and mount should be of a good quality. I will always choose a .22 cal magnum airgun since it offer's a wider selection of ammo then .177 magnums but some are still hooked on those high fps numbers that the .177 magnum shooter offers but those .177 pellet's have their limit's of accuracy when you start heading for the 1000fps zone. I don't think the remington npss takes the  GRT TRIGGER but charlie has a CBR trigger that works very well. Thanks David

I should have said Charlie's triggers  The XL's is different.  Just meant both guns are upgradeable.

the 350 hands down.... sorry but a nicely broken in rws will outclass and outlast a crosman any day of the week... plus it is a serious piece of kit,

We have two 350 magnums. One tuned, one not tuned. Both are much better than anything I have ever seen from Crosman or Benjamin.
Also a 20+ year old Diana Model 48. Same thing. One fine air rifle.

Buy the German quality.

i dont own a crosman xl however i have the 350m.22 that i purchased last year and im glad i did cause the power it releases accuratelty is very impressive...if u master the magnum u would ace your hunts with ease ...for better results using a shooting stick is recommendable since its a bit heavy and magnum rated..as for scopes i use a tasco non ao 3-9x50 that the previous owner had on it...i use small chickens made of hard clay and shoot them at 40 yards and a hit everytime...i have owned a few german airrifles and have never been disapointed ...

Go with the 350!  I have one and out of the box 35 yard shots are a joke. It's crazy accurate and so easy to work on when you do decide to tune it. The trigger is fantastic out of the box and you can adjust the first stage so easy. The directions are in the manual. I added a muzzle break to mine and a pg2 kit and can hit paint balls regularly at 50 yards. I get med if I miss. 35 yards is no problem and it can go through a 1 gallon jug of water at that range. I just knocked a 2 ltr off my dock 2 times In a row at 70 yards with 8.4 gr jsb pellets. All my yardage is measured with a laser range finder for accuacy. I had to shoot 10.2 gr jsb until I put the pg2 kit in. 10 .2 were running 920's stock then after I installed th pg2 kit they slowed to much so I ran 8.4 gr through it. They shoot in the 960's and offer the best muzzle energy, just over 17 fpe. Below 8.4 and they start to go super sonic.  It's a cannon for sure and stock or modded you will be happy. I don't own a trail np because I got my 350 first and now have no desire to buy another springer. I was going to get one but after my 350 there is no need or want for any other mag springer. The 350 is the $&@"!

The 350 is definitely a fine rifle.  I own 2 of them, but can your 350 get groups like the 48 .22 in Paul Capello's review?

Mine can't, so I ordered a 48 .22 today after trying for a year   My wife went on a shopping spree this week so that was the excuse I needed     I have shot my friend's 48 a couple of times and I must admit it's a little more accurate than my 350's.  You can't beat a good fixed barrel gun with a floating break-barrel configuration.  Still the 350 for its power is a very decent gun once broken in.
