T06 Easy Adjustment

After reading all I could find on the subject of adjusting the T06 trigger, I set aside about half a day to adjust it. It took me all of 10 minutes, and it is sweet! And I need to say I’m kind of a fanatic about triggers.
It’s important to understand that this is a TWO stage trigger, and in order to have a clean creep free second stage, the first stage MUST do 99% of the work, leaving the second stage to just nudge the sear the last 1%.
My model 54 came from the factory with a decent trigger adjustment, but there was a small amount of 2nd stage creep. As delivered the 1st stage adjustment screw was all the way in (CW) and I needed it to do more of the work, so I backed out the 2nd stage screw about a half a turn, now the trigger could move further, allowing the 1st stage to do more of the work, before the 2nd stage engages. (Turning the 2nd stage adjustment out (CCW) has the same effect of turning the 1st stage adjustment in (CW), but since the 1st stage was already in as far as it would go, that was the only option) WHAT a difference! I ended up adjusting the 2nd stage out about another 1/8 turn, and now have a clean, crisp, creep free 2nd stage.
I ended up adjusting the rearmost screw (the pull weight adjustment) about halfway between its travel limits, with zero creep, it feels lighter than it really is.
It’s important to understand it’s a TWO STAGE trigger, and have some idea how it works before just starting to turn adjustment screws, just to see what they will do. There are some good schematics around, and people far more knowledgeable than me that I was able to study, before I decided to adjust my trigger, but you do have to search around a bit to find enough information, to completely understand how the T06 trigger works, but once you do, it’s as simple a pie.
