Don't freak out but is the barrel straight ? You should not have had to shim the scope to zero a NPXL, something is not right Batman
Mine did the same thing. I never figured out what caused it. Folks accused me of bumping the scope or other such stuff. Nothing like that happened. I finally ended up taking the scope completely off and starting from scratch. I took mounts and all off. While I had it all apart I gave it all a good cleaning and recentered the scope. When I had it all back together, somehow, it worked. The whole thing made no sense at all.Richard
<snip> Com on people these are air rifles.......... adjustment have to be made every time you decide to shoot that rifle again from the last day you shot it.
Great news trevlavo, good work! Nothing like ridding one's self of frustration. Now go enjoy shooting the npxl and thanks for the update. I'm considering a Leapers 1" tube x-12x40 myself. Apart from a Nikon on a .243 mdl. 700 Rem.I've always used Bushnell but funds are a little tighter these days and thoughtI might try the Leapers.
I've read shimming a scope is never a good idea but don't remember why.jim

The shim forces the end of the scope that you shimmed up so the scope doesn't fit the mount rings properly. When you tighten the screws to the rings, you can distort the tube of the scope on the end that isn't shimmed and mess things up. The best way is to shim the base of a ONE PIECE scope mount where it meets the receiver so the scope stays in the same plane relative to the rings. Using a high mount and a medium mount is an extreme example of the misalignment.
oh well, somethings working. five shots at 25 yds 14.3 cphp. disregard the low and left hole, its from another target on the page. pellet shown for scale. this is an 8.5x11 page with like 12 targets on it, this is the best one.
