Disco trigger still way too stiff

Some of it is hard to absorb because I don't have much experience fooling with hammers and the inner workings of sear engagement, etc.  You've been very helpful sharing this information! I'm trying to decide between buying a metal trigger (maybe B&A or TKO trigger) and polishing up the trigger parts or simply buying the Mrod trigger. I don't like tinkering with the gun - I prefer to spend my time shooting it!

Trying to avoid doing a mod that might lead to other issues (sear drag, hammer drag, whatever) that I will wonder if they are starting to occur and then require further work...

id attempt the polishing and lubing the stock trigger.. it helps a lot, but when i did it i still didnt like it but id try polishing and rsterne's  suggeston on using that different spring.. sounds like its more up ur ally then a trigger swap

There have been reports of the MRod sear breaking when installed in a Disco with a stock hammer.... I experienced that in my Hayabusa which had a hammer with a thin middle section like the Disco hammer.... The MRod and Challenger both use a cylindrical hammer (with the sides ground off to make it weigh the same, nothing to do with the problem).... Since there is no notch in the bottom there is nothing to hit the sear during the shot and break it.... The same mod worked on my Hayabusa....

Most people don't have the MRod sear break with a stock Disco hammer.... but some have.... Totally up to the person that installs the MRod trigger in a Disco whether to change to a Challenger hammer or not.... The ground area in mustangmike's photo is to clear the front breech screw on a Disco.... If you don't do that you will bend the screw and not be able to get it out the first time you pull the trigger....

Don't let us make you crazy, the basic Disco trigger group can be polished, lubed and fine tuned to make a very nice, 2 lb pull trigger. Just follow the few basic directions given here earlier (including the trigger housing/casting deburr if neccesary) add moly lube and shoot it for a bit.

Polish contact areas, and add the third screw for sear engagement, makes a big difference.

I put this spring in my disco and it works great (www.mcmaster.com their part number is: 9435K24 or 9434K25).
