I think I have found my pellet

I did some more pellet testing this morning and found that the gun definitely loves Barcuda's and it is a relative dead heat between the standard Baracudas and the Baracuda 5.51mm, make sense I guess. I would have to say that the edge goes to the 5.51's. Maybe more consistent since they are going for a specific head size. Anyway. here is the group I shot this morning with the Marauder at 30 yards with the 5.51's

I have tested almost all of the pellets that H&N makes to this point. About half are good to great and the other half are shotgun pellets to say the least out of my gun.

Now on to pressure testing to find the sweet spot and see how many shots I can get before the POI starts to move.

Very Nice! I too have found that H&N barracuda's works Great in every rifle I have (whether it's a PCP or Springer).I searched all the JSB's,CPHP's and every other brand,but I've found Cuda's work Great as an all around pellet.

The only pellet that doesn't seem to be as good is the H&N Crow mags. H&N has Great consistency so I Hope they keep it up.

If you really want to see what it's got stretch it out to 45-55 yds.  I have shot many groups like that at 30yds with my Pneuma that I'm working on.  They may open up at longer range but you won't know unless you test.  Unless 30yds will be about your max range for a shot, don't stop there.

also if you dont have a chrony you should get one, best way to find the sweet spot is to test with a chrony...

I have done some testing at 50 yards and they definitely open up the farther out i shoot as expected. Now that I have my pellet I will be doing more shooting at 50 to work on the accuracy. At 20 and 30 it it beginning to be hard to see the issues quite as well. I will keep posting all of the testing I am doing to docume t the progress.

You're welcome.  I'm just passing along what I and others have seen.  Some will say if it groups tight at 20 or 30 yds it is all good, and it may be.  However, I have seen great groups at 30yds. and poo at 45 and beyond, with some rifle/pellet combos.  My Pneuma shot like a laser at that distance even with iron sights, but couldn't haul the mail at 45 and beyond all that well in out of the box configuration, even though most of them (Pneumas) around the world seem to be super accurate.  My RWS 850 was great on paper out to 35yds. and I hit what I aimed at out to 65yds.  I was having accuracy issue one day and decided to get the bench out for some 50yd groups and the results made me wonder how I hit anything out there past 50.  I was shooting CPHs out of the tin, becuase they were "accurate" and cheap.  I then switched to some JSB 10.2 grain pellets and was able to keep 10 shot groups under an inch.  Find what it likes and feed it what it prefers based on your intended purposes.  I don't beat myself up over a gun I only want to use as a short range plinker though, but even then I want it accurate enough for the intended purpose.

Sorting pellets is another step in the chase for accuracy.  I have never sorted JSB pellets prior to today.  I sorted a bunch of 25.4 grain Monsters today and saw weights from 24.9 grains to 25.8 grainers.  I always sort Crosman Premiers out of the card board box (since 2008) and they are the best they have to offer.

Justing Just me...but I do my testing at short range (20 or 25 yards) to sort out the INACCURATE pellets.  The ones that pass the short range tests get tested at long range later.

Saves time, lets you test a lot of pellets and weed out the hopless before heading out to a range.

So far, have been some great shooting short range pellets that just "went stupid" at long range...but so for NO PELLET that shot crappy at short range self-healed and shot well at long.
