Lube for M-rod Bolt and breech oring

Just wondering what I should use to lube the bolt and breech oring on my marauder?

Personally feel ANY medium to heavy bodied oil would be just fine ... used sparingly

What is a heavy bodied oil? 30WT motor oil? I thought you were not supposed to use petroleum based products in the barrel because of the high pressure air. Is this the case? I was thinking it would need to be something that is silicon based. Someone suggested liquid wrench but I havent had a chance to get to the auto parts store to check on what is in liquid wrench. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I use silicone Dielectric grease. I use a Q Tip and give the bolt & breech O ring a very thin coat of it.
Seems to work fine for me

i use a 30wt pure silicone oil sparingly. (rc car shock oil) about $3 to $7 a bottle. the grease (as norm stated) might be a better option. it would likely stat put better and not be shot down the barrel. remember sparingly. my .02

Thats funny, I just may have some of this lying around. I am beginning to think that you and I are very similar. First motorcycle racing, then airguns and now RC cars as well. Great minds must play alike as well

nothing but silicon for that o-ring, but if you mean the cocking lug/bolt (that goes through your receiver) silicon is NOT to be used, FP10(just a drop) would be good there.

OK, but what is FP10 most like, generically? I would rather not buy a whole bottle of FP10 just to put a drop on the bolt every now and then. There must be a generic equiviliet that I already have lying around.

BTW: wht can't you use silicon on the bolt?

My guess on the bolt Jeff is that it will(an does)pick up an hold all the grit an so become's abbrasive or can become stiff in cold weather since so much would be applied? As you seemed to know FP-10 is just a well liked gun oil with a touch of MP10(?) in it, I would say just a drop of any "good" gun oil on the bolt should do fine, again ONLY silicon grease on the breech 0-ring an then wipe off all excess(I do mine ever couple of hundered shot's or when my old brain remind's me).
