Cometa Fusion

Has anyone shot one of these AG`s ? You should take a look at one. They look nice but would like to know what the performance is like.Comta Fusion Adventures in Airguns has them.

I have owned the Fusion and they are beautiful looking air guns. But IMO the buck stops there. You are paying a load of money for the asthetics. They have done a great job in the design of stock and muffler... I have an old RWS 94 which is the same powerplant and shoots just as nice and is just as accurate. Paid $100.00 for it and sold my Fusion... I plan on refinishing the stock and making a similar shroud for mine. The new Cometa's do have issues with the triggers. The older RWS 94 has same trigger but no problems with it. I have looked at both very close when in pieces and really cannot see the difference but something has changed. I will keep my RWS 94...

Thanks Gene , They do look like a good AG but what you have just said is kinda what i thought.Allot of`em look nice but don`t perform in either trigger or power & accuracy.

I recently picked up a used .22 for a good price. I too was put off by the new prices of these guns. Well now my tune may changed after shooting the Fusion last weekend. All I can say is it's one of the most accurate (in my hands) of dozens of springers I own. I liked it so much that I bit on a used Fenix to compliment the Fusion.
I have not had a chance to run it over the chrony but my experience tells me it's over 700 fps as others have reported.
The trigger is a nice two stage affair that makes shooting a real pleasure. I'm not sure if the air stripper is hype or not but I found the gun to be accurate enough to repeatedly hit a spatula at 85 yards.
I've seen quite a few of these sold at a nice price.

got cut off.  The other thing that that struck me is how light the gun handles. Not to say its the lightest thing, but rather that it holds extremely well/natural for it's size. Fit and finish is uniform. The checkering is unique in that each of the raised circles in the pattern is finished smooth. The contrast with the raw background makes for a nice grip surface.
All that being said I'd like to check out a RWS 94 again. I had one very briefly and regret not holding onto it longer.

I think for beech stock Fusion was $325.00 on Adventure in Airguns web page. I think there awesome looking but i want a AG that has good specs. in all catagories.I  have never had any high end springers but am thinking Beeman`s HW97K Carbine in .20 Cal maybe what i`m looking for. I am leaning toward a fixed barrel but a nice break barrel will do the job. I like the looks of Rws 470TH in .22 that AoA has as well. Both of these are over $600.00

Definitely look into one. I have a fusion black in .177. It's a great black wood stock and it is very accurate. I shoot quarter sized groups at 25 yards consistently. They are beautiful, hard hitting, and accurate. What else do you need to know?

Boy, there goes Gene putting down the Fusion he sold me...Should I have buyer's remorse?

The Cometa Fusion I got from Gene is my most accurate springer. I love the balance, and looks, and I have never shot a more accurate gun. To me, it means that a gun in different people's hands is a different weapon. I'm glad Gene didn't get along with it as well as I do, or I wouldn't have it. Just to be clear I have a few guns, and place it above my RWS48, RWS94, TF89s (Gene tuned), Mendoza 2800, Winchester 1000, BAM 21, Hatsan MOD 100, Remington Vantage/Quest 1000 (Gene tuned), RWS350, Hatsan 125, and whatever else I have had.

As far as price...They go for $350 new, and I got mine from Gene for $270 TUNED. That is, a $100 gun and his $170 tuning service...So I can't say that it cost too much. That's what it costs (about) to get a TF89 with a tune, and I really like those.

Depending on what you compare it to, I think it is worth $350. I had an RWS350 and got rid of it... More powerful, sure, but too finicky.

I also have the RWS94, and got it effectively NEW... years later. I like the gun, and paid only $130, which I think was pretty much a steal, BUT the going rate as well. It just isn't as accurate....BUT also not tuned. One thing buying the 94 convinced me of is that the Cometa guns are under-appreciated.

I agree with Gene that the 94 is a great buy if you find one about the price where they retailed. He gave me a nice deal on the tuned Fusion, or I wouldn't have it -- mostly because no one talks about them. I feel the Cometas are the best guns I own. Gene may not have molded this one to his satisfaction, but he molded it well to mine ;-)

I have two RWS94s and they are just about my favorite guns. They have plenty of power and very nice triggers. This is a version of the Cometa 400, and among other things they are very nice handling guns, as Brian said about the Fusion.

I do have an RWS34 to compare with. I consider them equals in most departments, but I prefer the balance of the Cometas.

All that said, I have never shot a Fusion and am a little put off by the price. I think they are very beautiful rifles. I too have read of some of the trigger issues- not at all sure what the problem is, but more than one owner has reported them.

hello airgunners ,as i read many of us that own a cometa love them .out the box these are proven to be great as i have experienced when i purchased last year.they are very accurate,plenty of power for hunts,not much recoil,well balanced ,.. i tested them both outdoors and found the whisper to be louder not by much but a noticeable difference ....i also had issues with the trigger like Gene and thought i had to spend another 75 for purchase..as me and gene spoke on this issue james manou jump in and offered to repair it for me free of charge now thats what i call excellent customer srevice.... besides the trigger no problem...u will not disappointed if u purchase it ...prices are going up everywhere but for some its still a great buy ....

I am not putting down the Cometa Fusion but merely calling a spade a spade... I paid $355.00 plus shipping for it new plus a new trigger assymbly which was $45.00 plus shipping from the UK..

I do not know if I ever told you but the Cometa Fusion I bought and sold to you had a bad trigger assymbly. Half the time it would not cock. I do think they are beautiful air rifles hands down. I also want you to know that I bought a completly new trigger assymbly from the UK to replace the defective trigger that came with the new Cometa Fusion. As far as accuracy goes it was all right... For me,  shot allot better and more accurate springers. I also have an RWS 94 that is an original 1991 model and was made for RWS by Cometa. One in the same guns. No difference in power plants nor trigger is almost 20 years for Cometa. They are like Gamo triggers and their basic powerplants. They have been good designs and they have stayed with their designs.

As far as the RWS 94 and the Cometa Fusions and all other Cometa 1000 fps rated air guns they are all the same except for the cosmetics.

Any new air gun can have defects and that is all normal. My Fusion had a bad trigger and at the time had no support for returning it nor replacing trigger in the US.

Unlike Crosman and Umarex who service what they sell......

I bought my Fusion used in .177 cal tuned with a Hawke AirMax scope. It's a beauty and shoots great. I'm saving it to give it to my grandson as his first airgun.
