Can someone explain what the "bearing" is on a Sheridan Blue Streak?

Another possibility: your bolt lug may not be protruding enough to reliably grab the hammer and pull it back.  You noted cutting it shorter because it 'came through the other side', but maybe it only needed to be backed off a bit from fully screwed in position.

Note on making a socket for the lug removal. I use a socket head screw head 3/32nds IIR as a socket wrench , and a vise grip to turn it.

I'm thinking that this is correct. I'm just sitting down to go through it and am going to take Jon's advice and take the action out of the stock. (Thanks, Jon)
But, I believe you're right, that I just should of backed it out a bit. I was thinking that it needed to be tight, so I opted for shortening it which seems like a mistake now.

A little bit of background that I didn't mention is my first post. About 7-8 years ago I pulled out the ole blue streak from my gun safe wondering if it would still hold air and fire. It did not. I turned to the internet and found someone who I contacted and told them that I was interested in sending it to them to have the seals replaced. To this day, I don't remember who it was I sent it to and wouldn't mention them here if I did. I feel like it was someone not close to California, like maybe in the south or East Coast?

He contacted me after receiving the gun and asked if I would like the stock refinished, I agreed. Weeks passed and he contacted me letting me know that he was sending my gun back but had to replace the original bolt due to it being defected or broken he said. He said he couldn't find an original replacement so he made one on his lathe. Well, when I received my gun it had "homemade" straight style bolt in it that didn't have an O-ring. Mine had an Oring and was curved to fit the rifle. I wasn't happy at all with this and contacted him to have him send my original bolt back. I contacted him several times and he never replied.

So, long story even longer... I wanted to have my gun back to as close as it was when it was given to me. So, that is why I purchased the OEM bolt off of Ebay.

I placed on order for two more of the locking lugs off of JG airguns last night to see if maybe I fix the issue with a new lug that I didn't screw up.

James, I did make a lug removal tool out of a set screw with a 1/8 hex head, a jam nut and a wing nut. It seems to be working great. Thanks for the info and help.

I did have a question: Do I need to lube/oil the bolt mechanism at all? I have some Ballistol and other spray lubrication and was wondering if I should use that or purchase a specific oil for the gun.

You do not have to oil the bolt, but if you want to you can put a little lubrication on the bolt, just use a little of the ND10W-30 or secret sauce...etc oil that you'll be using for the pump cup.

My gun is up and running like a top thanks to all the help from the guys on this forum. I was hoping to get some secret sauce, but from what I can find it isn't available anymore. So, I guess I'll need to find some 10w-30. If anyone knows where I can find something similar to "secret sauce" please let me know.

I have a Sheridan the same year as yours. I have no problem working on any of my PCPs or springers including my impact but I'm dreading opening up my Sheridan. Luckily It doesn't need anything, yet? 😁
