Good Morning Airgunners. Thank you for being part of the GTA!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. First of all, let me apologize for NOT going live over the weekend. We are still trying to work out logistics and scheduling for "Let's Talk Airguns" moving forward. Our plan was to film several live segments on Saturday, but I was not feeling well Friday night and Sue was not feeling well Saturday morning. We managed to fill the retakes we needed for a couple of AE25 segments that had audio issues, but hauling, setting up, and running all the gear to do a live was not something either of us was up for. So, please forgive me for not going live as stated and also for not being better about letting everyone know what was going on. I will work on doing better.
On that front, Sue has been working hard to build out a "Let's Talk Airguns" section on AirgunWeb.con (
https://www.airgunweb.com/lta/
). It's a work in progress, but once completed, it will serve as the launching point for the show. We'll have a calendar on the page with our upcoming schedule along with all the episodes going back to the begining. Give us a couple of weeks to get things up and going, but hopefully this will provide the portal to the show that's been needed.
Lastly, I'm still trying to figure out how to manage the live schedule followed by a consistent release time on the AGW YouTube channel. While it does not work to go live there, it's still the place with the most eyeballs for the content. Here's what I'm thiking at this time. Sue and I will probably fillm multiple episodes of "Let's Talk Airguns" just to maximize efficiency. Once those are cleaned up, they will post on my YT page at the regular LTA time slot on Saturday nights. While they won't be "live," they will be part of our podcast episodes and we'll be able to be much more consistent.
If we go with this plan, then the Live shows will be back to back a couple of days in the month. We'll post the schedule on the LTA page so that you all can know the times, dates, and topics for the upcoming shows. Please let me know what you all think of the new plan. It will allow us to be far more consistent in our timing and content delivery.
Now on to NEW airguns! As I mentioned last week, I received in the new Brocock Sonoran .30 High Power. I shot that this weekend and it delivered some impressive out of the box results. It's a 100 yard gun for sure. I only shot the JSB 44.75s but they delivered great results. Having previously shot the Brokock Sniper in the past, there were no surprises really with the Sonoran. It's a nice Airgun that delivered good energy, shot count, and consistent velocity. Sue and I shot two videos with it on Saturday. Once was a video mounting an 8-32 Hawke Sidewinder (awesome scope). After that we shot a video shooting steel targets at 50 and 100 yards. The later will be a great baseline for going forward. I will need send it back in about a month so we'll get our videos done and plan to release them over the next few months. I hope you all enjoy the content.
Lastly, I sat down with the Huben K1 .22. Now I have my .25 which is my favorite airgun at the moment. If I had the K1 .22 vs the .25, the .22 would be my favorite airgun. The K1 line from Huben is just amazing. I shot a demo on how the power adjuster works for dialing thigns in for optimal velocity and then we switched over the the new Huben Peanut Slugs. At 33.33 grains, I expected them to really drop velocity vs the 18.13s. But much to my surprise and delight, they were banging. Energy topped out at 70 FPE with those slugs. That's 70 FPE in a .22. Accuracy was impressive as well. We were only shooting steel at 50 yards, but the results were awesome. I'm not sure if John over at New England Airguns will need this back, but I'm going to get some more footage with it as long as I have it available.
So, that's the post for today. I know its LONG and thank you for your patience if you've made it to the end here. I'll have more to chat about tomorrow so please come back to the Boss's Corner for more updates.
Thank you all again for being part of the GTA!
Cheers
Rick
