Stoeger 3-9x40 AO Scope Crosshairs Rotated

I purchased a batch of 10 Stoeger 3-9x40 AO Airgun Scopes knowing I was taking some risk.

A few had crosshairs that had rotated about 45 degrees........
I mentioned this to the seller and he sent me additional units......

Anyway, the crosshairs should be attached to a ring that can be adjusted if I understand scope construction.
In order to access this ring the eye lens and power adjuster rings need to be removed.
I see no means to do this. The eye lens unscrews to a point, but reaches a pretty definite stop.

Does anyone have suggestions (other than just toss them) ??

I know that these are not exactly prime quality units, but I am on a quest for knowledge...
