So I started to work on the finish of the stock. I had sanded it years ago which you can see when I finished getting it up and running. I'm just applying coats of Tru-oil and hitting with 0000 steel wool in between coats. This picture is after the forth coat. Planning on continuing with probably another 4 coats. After that I'll do the pump handle. I made a jig to handle it during the application without touching it and letting it hang dry.

Well darn! I got careless removing the pump handle to strip it and refinish it to match the stock. First roll pin came out with no issues. The second was bound and determined to stay in. I'm guessing as I worked on it I got the gun in an awkward position and caused one corner to break off completely (more like a splintering chip) and a long crack on the other side. This has made me sick to my stomach for letting it get the best of me. I did finally manage to get it out. While the damage could have been considerably worst, it is repairable but this just sets me back. After getting everything glued I might use my pin nailer and pop a small one in a few places for extra strength but I'm kind of leary on doing that.
While it's not catastrophic I'm sad that it happened in the first place.
