I like the power adjuster in blued steel from Charles Mellon Airgun Parts. It has plenty of adjustment with a large diameter spring guide screw and looks like it belongs on a 2240 to me. You can use a longer power spring if you want which can be swapped without disassembly out the back if you want to experiment with different springs.
Ordered these from Fenton Shooting Supplies in the UK for my 22xx stainless and brass build.

Thanks for all the info!I decided to go with the MellonAir - I like the low-profile adjustment screw (and price!). Any issues with it backing out after shooting?
