Looking for ideas to make PcP affordable.

Not nearly as loud as the Yong Heng type or even a shop compressor. It will be heard on your porch or in your apartment... not gonna lie. It will raise curiosities from neighbors but if you talk to them and let them know that you will keep it to a minimum and during suitable hours you should be fine. Not much louder than your vacuum cleaner.
If they don't mind you shooting airguns in close proximity they should be accepting. Heck, you might even gain a shooting buddy or 2.

I highly doubt my neighbors would approve, much less join me shooting out back. I could just take the whole rig to the rod and gun club and pump my gun up there. How portable are those?

They are very portable! Most even have a carry handle strap on top. Also, most have a set of cables to power it off your car battery....but make sure you crank your car first!

Yep... like a 12 pack of your favorite beverage with ice in a cooler.

One question about these pumps. How noisy are they? I live in an apartment. I do have a back porch and on nice days I could run it out there, but the neighbors will wonder what I am doing, so quiet is important.

Soundwise, they (my 12V pump, I can't speak towards the CX) are very noisy -- not so much for the pumping, which is a low pitched 4-5 strokes per second which no one would likely notice, but the cooling fan is every bit as loud as a shopvac, and pretty much drowns out the actual pumping sound.  You might fab up a sound absorbing box -- just remember it needs fresh airflow for cooling.

Weightwise , the CX mentioned above is listed at about 18 lbs.  The generic I have is about 12 lbs.

Here's a whole generic setup on Amz -- $130 -- I can not vouch for this particular one -- but gives you some idea of size.
It's $40 delivery ouch -- I'd look for a better price plus shipping total if I went this route.

Honestly, since I have access to a shooting range and no place to shoot in my backyard, a 22LR rifle makes more sense. I can get a decent one for a lot less than a PcP and the ammo is cheap. This range I belong to has an indoor range for 22LR but would be perfect for C02 handguns. That really was my purpose in getting back into airgunning. Until I live somewhere where I can shoot in a backyard, I see no sense in investing in a PcP outfit. I guess I really had to think this through and look at my options. Thanks for letting me pick your brains.

It’s more of a want than a need (always is), reason why some here have dozens or more than a hundred airguns 

I myself would like to buy another Air Arms PCP or a BSA R12 in .22 but I already own a few PCPs, and although I can afford it, it really makes no sense getting another one.

What I need is, been saying this a dozen times, more quality scopes

That's one thing that makes me feel out of place here. Being disabled and on a fixed income I can't afford much. I have to settle for what I can get. But the main thing is to have fun and I will try to do that.
