I cannot get my new AT 44-10 (Long, QE) to shoot wadcutters worth a &^^&. My other guns shoot Meisterkugeln and Apolo Champions very well and consistently (.3 to .5" groups) and this one shoots 18 grain Apolo pointed & Air Boss domed pellets in the .3" range but the wad cutters are more like 1.5" range.
Wondering if, due to the high muzzle velocity, the airflow around the edges of the flatfront might be going supersonic, producing instability?
Anyone have any experience/ thoughts?

As you mentioned, could be all the above
Some pellets are a little more temperamental then others
I take it this is still unregulated ?
If so, if you haven't yet, start lessening the hammer spring tension,
also keep an eye on your manometer reading after a few rounds, as your Bell curve will change
Hope this Helps you get started

Some magazine loaders damage wadcutter pellets.
Rifles that have single shot trays may handle wadcutters "better"?
Not Hatsan but my MagFire-Ultra Crosman magazine repeater break-barrel shredded wadcutters. It completely jammed up and had to be disassembled and cleaned after half a magazine of wadcutters.
I have not tried wadcutters in my AT44 rifles.

I have never had any gun that shoots above the mid 700s shoot wadcutters well. And most often the speeds need to be lower than that. I keep the wadcutters for my MSP guns where I can regulate speed with the number of strokes. I never shoot them out past 10 yards or so.
That's just my experience... others may be different.

Thanks, all. I just purchased a chrono to start tinkering with the hammer spring.

I've been able to dial in the hammer springs on my AT44s to shoot hollowpoint and roundnose pellets at the velocities I wanted ( NOT max power) with very good accuracy. At my velocities the wadcutters "might" work...I simply haven't tried them in the AT44s.
I do like wadcutters for paper AND they make an awesome POP sound on pest critters. I usually reserve wadcutters for single shot multi-pump pneumatics and mid-low energy break-barrels. My error for trying them in a MagFire:-/
