Which Vortex gas spring is used in the Mid. 130 QE Vortex?

I’m no expert and not sure what “mid” means however I had the ram fail in my Qe carnivore .30. I emailed Hatsan looking for a part number. They email back to me to provide serial number and from that they provided me with the part number. Hope this helps.

Mid typo for Mod maybe?

I'm pretty certain this is simply a Mod135QE "engine" with a 30 cal "carnivore" barrel in a plastic (sporter?) stock.

That means it should use a Type2 Vortex.

I have a Mod130QE which I have not opened up yet. Purchased used from a fellow GTA member, the rifle is still shooting well hurling large diabolo shaped lead bricks :-)
... until the Vortex leaks. It WILL certainly will leak when the internal o-rings wear/age-out.
My parts bin has a factory coil spring and 3-hole tail-plug for a Mod135 "waiting" for that day.

I was pretty sure that it used a Type 2, but as it is not listed ob the Hatsan chart, I didn't want to "assume"
I am kinda working on an NPXL gas spring conversion for the 135/130 and others that use the Type 2 Vortex

I am having the adapter plug cad-cammed into a 3-D printable file.
No time frame on that.......

I still need to look at my 130 to verify stroke length.
The Type 2 Vortex has about 3/8" longer stroke available than the NPXL.
From dimensions you and mikeyb have provided, the NPXL ram will be right at the stroke length limit after
accounting for pre-load and reserve length to keep the rod from bottoming out at either end of the stroke.
There may be 3mm to spare; however that may be required for piston overtravel to latch.........

I also need to see if the open end of the piston will need to overlap the end of the adapter plug.......

The 125 uses the same Type 2.
Not sure of the stroke length of the 125,tho.........
If it has a longer strike than the 135, probably not......

I was wrong.  the mod 125 tube is 32mm exterior diameter and the mod 135 is 35mm.

Same stroke, larger diameter (135), more swept volume (from larger diameter NOT stroke), HEAVIER (more mass 135) piston, "potential" to transfer more of the SAME-spring-ENERGY ( SAME spring used in both 125 and 135) to a pellet.

Ron, do you remember working on my 130 gas spring?
Its the one that has a bleed screw.
The gas springs of the 135 and 130 can be swapped.
I have both and done that. I've also swapped barrels and stocks between them.

I also have parts en route that should help me develop the NPXL conversion.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.
The Type 2 Vortex ram has an end block that is 28.5mm dia.
Thinking that is a close fit in the Mod. 125 air tube, it will be a tad sloppy in the Mod. 135 air tube......

Mikey, would you happen to know what is the diff from a type 1 to a type 1B Vortex? Just a curiosity is all...

Just a GUESS...
I'd bet the type1 has a flat base with a small ~3/8' dia recess to center over a coil-spring-style 3 hole tail piece.
The type1-B should have the longer machined base with one cross-pin hole and a partial slot for the Quattro trigger assembly. It would require a 2 hole tailpiece.
... I don't have them on-hand for a real comparison. Sorry :-(

Hatsan just shows a Type 1 Vortex, and it is as you describe as a Type 1-B
